Military Scam

Hello everyone, i've just found out that i was being scamed by a military man ou was working for the us-army!!!His name is James Scott Bradley he is supposively 49 years old, was a widowed man with a 10 year old son named Junior!!!His wife had passed away 4 years ago!!!His email adress is [email protected] met the guy on Badoo!!!told me he was from New York workig in Afganistan!!!!

Hey I have a friend that has fallen for a guy with the name "James Scott" with a story almost exactly as you've been told. Do you happen to have any pics or any other information?

Just to clarify a few things: first of all, the scammer involved is not, and has never been, a US soldier. The scammers who run this particular format are African scammers, most of whom have never even been in the US. They steal photos of real soldiers that were posted online. Sometimes they use the soldier's real name; more often than not, they make up a name (but if they use pictures with a name on the uniform, they will often keep the uniform name and change the first name.)

"James Scott" is a very typical scammer name. Many Africans are unfamiliar with how Anglo Saxon names work, and they don't understand what is typically a first name versus what is typically a last name. As a result, many scammer names consist of two first names, two last names, or may have the first and last name reversed. A name like "James Scott" may be used by several different scammers.

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of African scammers posing as US soldiers online right now. I have dealt with many real American soldiers, and have NEVER encountered a real US soldier stationed in a combat zone who is active on dating sites (yes, there are soldiers who are NOT stationed in combat zones on dating sites)--they have too many other things to worry about. I have, however, seen or dealt with thousands of fake profiles posted by scammers who claim to be stationed overseas.

If you can post more information about your friend's "soldier" we should be able to research and determine for certain whether it is a scam, but I can tell you right now that the odds are very high. And if this "soldier" has EVER asked your friend to apply for a phone, for his leave, or fill out any "beneficiary" forms, then it is an absolute certainty she is dealing with a scammer, because all of these things are fake inventions of African scammers.

this is the face of a guy who contacted me on FB. I don't believe that the words behind the screen are from the face you see????

*says he is Sgt Nicholas Todd
*lives in Las Vegas
*currently deployed to Benghazi (previously Afghanistan)
*says he is a sergeant in US Army
*had a sad story about no parents
*very poor use of english written language
*had to 'nap' or go on 'mission' whenever asked any questions
*rest of story is similar to others here
*in the war (at first he said he is a peacekeeper; then said he is UAV guy), wants out, loves me, wants to come to 'where I am', leave is 'currently' being issued to service members who want to leave, commander on-site ready to help, have to send letter asap to us army (but its a fake addy...gmail I think), commander will approve for sure, have to pay $5K to re-deploy and for flights, processing, etc., and then US mil will reimburse $$$.

in all, after I called him on the mil gmail addy, i got two more, three email addys in total!!!

oh, and something funny , the guy didnt have much to say in the form of a sentence. His language was limited, but one time he exploded with info and language on what he does, when he did he wrote:

I've watched his FB page and dont believe his 'friends' list, and also women come and go

what really bothers me, along with women getting scammed, is that some guy's identity is being abused. god I hope this service member is not KIA or something....

I am having so much fun with scammers right now, especially the ones claiming to be american military officers ...


David petraeus Us military officer: I googled him, read up about him then asked the scammer how ????? was (wifes name) he asked who I was talking about, I then asked after his children ... still blank ... then he replied ...how do you know my wife ... obviously he had googled too, I told him his wife was friends with my mom I am still waiting on a reply.

Eng. Andrew Pryke, claims to be CEO of Bam Construction currently working in Ghana, claims to be from The Mosley in Birmingham, originally born in the Ireland, for a man claiming to be head of a company and a high ranking architect he has very poor spelling

I like to feed these scammers baloney then imagine them doing cartwheels around their mud huts thinking how rich I am and how much money they can scam from me ... when the reality is ... I am playing their game but with my rules

It sounds as if 419eater.com is the best place to share your exploits. It's a sister site to this and I'm a member there too, where we share tales of how we bait and play with scammers. You can learn the ways to make yourself completely safe and tell them what you've been doing.

There aren't so many female baiters so you'll be very welcome as the female can be much deadlier than the male.

You might get some ideas too.

Of course you can bait them from dating site contacts and then post their details here so that potential victims can pick them up on a Google search. Thereby you smile at them in the face, as you stab them in the back, figuratively speaking of course. That's what baiters do to scammers.

James Stuart has been trying to scam me to, only I can detect scammers, I was chatting to him right up until last wk, he's a con & a fraud,delete & block him. I have photos just like everyone has. Only difference is he's told me he lives in Texas & his son is 15yrs old.

hi im from denmark, 24yrs old. i meet a guy in tagged 3days from now. he said he is a us marine and he's being deployed in nigeria and he's asking me a payment to send via western union to finance officer Benjamin A. for him to get his vacation and the authority will pay me back when he already arrived here in denmark. and he want me to send the money now or tomorrow so he can fly here in denmark as soon i send the money. is this a scam or something?thanks for your response!!
