I knew he was too good to be true, he was just too perfect, too nice.

I feel so stupid. good thing i haven't shelled out any money yet, only emotionally and the time I spent chatting with him.

I'm from the Philippines by the way, and before you think anything derogatory about the Filipinas let me assure you that I have never scammed anyone nor asked for money. I have a job and it just doesn't feel right asking money from strangers.
I guess no more dating sites for me. If its not scam then there are pedo's we have to watch out for and I have 3 little girls to worry about.

by the way here's how i found out there was something wrong about him - he sent me a pic and underneath it says " Sent from my Blackberry smartphone provided by Airtel Nigeria.

I mean if he was based in Iraq why would he get a phone provider from Nigeria?

Hello Caroline. I found your scammer with the same cut and paste rubbish here.
No it isn't a typo with all that number of mistakes. He stole it off a female profile because he thought it looked good. However he is a Nigerian criminal who is barely literate and doesn't have any idea of what he posts. However it should have been a major red flag. What country did he say he was serving in? MAJOR OOPS! but not educating scammers with the answer. It shows the importance of reading a profile and trusting the text is as wrote. Suspicion would have produced proof of a scam had it been entered to a search. Some Thinking it through is needed also. So for those who lost money for which I am sorry, the signs were all there and in place that this person is a criminal and a liar. Any profile using those photos will be a fake.

Just be Careful... This Romance Scammer is an Organization from different countries. Different person answering yr mails and some time they cut and paste the message (able to view different Fonts when they reply) and also sometime they address themselves as Dr Reg or Dr Efrain or Reg. or Efrain (they themselves confused)... Mostly, they off during Sunday for those writing message bcos they work in shift... They alway give different excuses when you ask them to turn on their web Cam during chat.

Generally figuring out a scam use this principle: "If it's too good to be true, its NOT true at all."

Don't tell scammer anything just vanish. Scammers are a territiorial lot so that's unlikely to be organisational. They would happily murder if it got more money but they may sell their email lists. More likely it's proxy use.
Sometimes you can tell a proxy from search.I have a "sortof" rule that is that more than 100 hits is of concern. A normal search would give 97 as a good figure. It gives 80 so it's unlikely to be proxy. However in view of what you say it would look as if you were hit by a dictionary attacker that runs through long lists of possible password words automatically. Such compromised email acounts are then used to send out masses of spam, sites login to place spam etc. The idea is that this circumvents automatic spam blockers when used with a proxy that is not blacklisted.

Thankyou for publishing the report caroline. It could be simply a coincidence the thieving trickster did not appear online in the afternoon? Or it could have been spooked. And yes, as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow morning, the tosser will hit you with a money request. Had you have sent money it would have been through one of the wire services and you would have kissed it goodbye because it would not be seen again.
Yes it is possible this low-life knows of the site. Periodically scammers do drop by and it's possible it's seen the report. But there's also an excellent chance of that not happening. I refuse to call a scammer a man because real men, would never conduct such bad practices.
