Match.com Romance Fraud

Found out this was a scam after thinking about it and having a friend ask me to be careful about it being a scam.

Email address used is <[email protected]>, claims to get in British army deployed in Afganistan, but all emails track back to the U.K. Via the U.S. and the email address is listed on a scam watch site as trying to scam a guy 2 months ago.

Also found the same email address again on Match.com under a different profile with a different picture.

Both cases reported to Match.com

Also new one, "Karen Watford" <[email protected]>, claims to be in Brisbane, Australia, but the email originate from Canada after bouncing around the U.S. for a bit.

Could you please post some of the emails or messages you received? The scripts are often as important or even more important than the names, as scammers will often continue to use them after they change fake identities. They also serve as evidence that the emails are tied to scams.

Well, i must confess to you that am very new on this Internet dating stuff...a friend of mine introduced me to this site. I am the progeny only child of an Aussie father and English mom, but both of them are late. I grew up in berry SA and later moved to England. I'm working with the British Army serving in Afghanistan presently.

First email from 2014 April, 5th:

I serve in the 28 Engineer Regiment here in Afghanistan .
