Another scammer. This one is Leonard (Leo) Williams who went by the profile name of Newport 360 on Our Time. He sent a message that he would like to chat but on Yahoo Messenger. Didnt ask for anything until after a month or so. Then asked for meto send money to his agent in West Africa so he could get $200,000 sent to my acount so his investment friends could be paid by me. His funds were tied up because he worked for a government agency that was a high security company and was out of the country. His account had been hacked and he lost 2 million dollars so he had no access. He was very angry when I told him I didnthave money. Towards the 3rd month he tried again. I still couldnt help. He said hewas retiring and coming to live near meso we could get a home, car and have a good life. He needed to send me his laptop and 2 cell phones so I could send them to his agent in Africa as a Christmas gift for him and his family(the agents name was Eric Hayford). Never gave him my adress and never heard from him again. Did see him on Messenger a few days ago taking off his picture. He wouldnt answer me on there. He is supposedly from Newport News , Va. A widower born Jan. 1, 1959 ( [email protected] )

:laugh-s: :laugh-s: Yes Leo is a scammer. I too was contacted by this "gentleman". I was scammed by other guys before but when Leo started communicating with me his writing was completely normal, nothing out of the ordinary. His writing and grammar was perfect and he wanted to settle down with me also. He asked me to find places to think about retiring to. He said he worked for Homeland Security and was retiring at the end of the year. Widowed with no children due to his wife having cervical cancer and ovarian cancer. Leo traveled allot with his job. From VA to Cali to San Paulo to Germany to London and in London he told me that he got me a Christmas present but he needed me to help with the shipment, then it was antiques that he bought but due to his monies being messed up he wanted me to pay for them and he was going to pay me back when he returned home to me for Christmas. I told him that I don't give money to someone I never met. He sent pictures of himself with his all his secret security info on it to try and gain my trust. Unfortunately that photo turned out to be photo shopped. Ha, He asked me to send $5oo via Westren Union to Eric Hayford too. I googled that name and bingo......warning warning... Ghana West Africa is a popular spot for these scammers to work from. After not getting me to budge on sending the money Leo got angry and tried to put me on a guilt trip saying that I don't care about him or our relationship. That it shoud be based on trust, etc etc. I want to post his picture on here but I will have to figure that one out. OH and Umadeb and I have connected and shared out stories with each other. We both agreed to not feel stupid and to vow to get these scammers caught or to educate other women out there about these people. If someone doesn't write or speak in clear clean English (if you are American) it's a red flag and if they keep calling you baby, honey, queen, love.......and repeatly say that they miss you/love you/ want to be with you.....it's a scam. NO one falls that quickly, especially if you've never met. Keep your guard up ladies and keep your dignity.

I have another picture of Leonard Williams but don't know how to get it posted. This picture supposedly has all his job credetials on it. He asked me to not show it to anyone or he would get in trouble with his job. Ha, yeah right. Looking at the photo, looks like it isn't even real/origanal, it looks photoshopped. I mean he is wearing two shirt collars and his shirt is cropped into the cover of his passport and ID. Wow, these guys are jerks.

Lousy fakes see the join around the ears. I tried to resolve your picture but failed.

Hi all,

Do any of you have a picture of this man its just i cannot see the pics that have been posted on here for some reason they come back as broken links.

The reason i ask is i suspect this person may be tge same person who conned my grandmother out of about £500.00 by telling her he needed 4000 bit he had managed to sell his car and a few other things and got her to send money to ghana claiming something had happened to his daughter and she was being kept in ghana and if he did not get the money he was concerned something might happen to her. He told her he was a doctor contracted to the marine corp and was unable to get access to his bank accounts as he was on a ship and is not able to get access to them even though he could contact her via facebook. I know this guy is a con but its getting her to see this and i think this person may be the same guy do any of you have photos you could send so i can compare them to the one he has on facebook.

The whole family now knows whats going on so we can try and stop it we may also be passing the information to action fraud who alert the city of london police which is the uks top police force for financial crimes so they can investigate this further too stop others falling in to the same trap.

The posts that you are replying to are at least 2 years old and it is unlikely that the posters will return now or even still have the photos.

And even if they do, scammers regularly change their fake identities and the stolen photos that they use.

It is 100% certain though that your grandmother is in contact with a scammer. The story about not being able to access his bank account and mention of Ghana are proof of that. The person she is in contact with is a young Ghanaian who is only interested in stealing as much of her money as he can.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Hi all

Thankfully we managed to get my grandmother to see she was being scammed this version of leonard leo williams was a man of indian origin claiming to be contracted as a doctor to the marines also claimed he had his daughter in a boarding school and only sees her one week a year he claimed daughter was looked after by teachers who took her on holiday he then claimed shortly after telling her he wanted his daughter to come stay with her as he was retiring soon and moving near to her. It took some convincing as he claimed his daughter was ill and needed 4000 pounds to pay for her treatment he asked her to send money to an addresd in ghana but post office blocked it he then gave her a us address which i expect was a mail forwarding company or something. Sadly she sent that lot but we have managed to convince her it was a scam i am however going to keep a watch out as this guy or guys seem to have a habit of re making contact with her we have convinced her to make a new page on facebook my aunt has blocked him and sent him a message after him sending my granny one more or less attacking her fo listening to us and she has warned him that she will stop him from pulling this stunt again as we all know and no money will leave my grand mothers account without her dealing with it.

Now she knows we know she wont do it again and thanks to my digging for evidence we were able to prove to her this was a scam however in my experience of giving advice on these issues once they know your vulnerable they will sell on your details and place you on a mugs list for all scammers to see you will be prone to scams.

For families i would say there are lots of organisations out there who can help you protect vulnerable scammers one of these is action fraud who work closely with all police forces and will make a report to the uks financial crime investigation unit which is part of the city of london police and they will investigate these issues and aldo work with local police forces like police scotland and there serious organised crime team and their local officers to try and help protect vulnerable persons if you live in the uk and get contact from this man please contact action fraud the moment he tries to get you to send money so they can pass on his details to city of london police and they can work with authorities in ghana to bring him to justice.

We were lucky to catch it early on many of the families i used to deal with didn't manage to catch it till the victims lost thousands.

Be ware the us address ge finally gives you is probably a mail forwarding facility which then sends the money to him in ghana. Also be aware that the millitary all over the world allow there personel to access bank accounts and pay through the pay master general or an atm or online banking when they need too. This guy has pretended to work as a federal agent for tge us government and in a variety of rolls but the dact is the mo is always the same he has either been a victim of fraud or works in a top secret job with no access to funds he has claimed to live in west virgina and miami but i have no doubt he will have claimed to live in a few thousand places please do not send money he could be using this to fund anything.

My hats off to those who have fallen for this scam and are now warning others about it and to those whovdid not fall for tge scam but are still warning others about it.
