Information on romance scams and scammers.

Hi everyone....
I live in Canada and consider myself to be a very intelligent woman but at a vulnerable time in my life I fell for a scammer. It's incredibly embarrassing, of course, but now I'm a much stronger person and I know what to look out for.

Please, please, everyone......the common denominator in all these scams, whether they claim to be military or not, is the horrible, awful English they use. Yet they claim that English is their only language! Plus there is a big difference in someone who uses English as a second language and someone who is running everything through a translator program. Remember that game we used to play as kids - whisper a phrase into someone's ear and by the time it gets to the last person in line it makes no sense? Well that's what happens when a scammer is communicating with you through a translator program.

I know there are a lot of vulnerable people out there; one's who only want to find love and someone to care about them. I know, I'm one of them. But we need to stay smart and sharp and not let these horrible people into our lives.

Cheers!

Hi
Thats true, you dont have to be stupid to fall for a scam. The right moment and the right words there and then, and you fall.. If you read what they write in a more sober and clear mind, you see it, but then it might be too late, you are cought ..
In my country they have included a joke about Nigerian letter scam in commercials on TV, think thats great.

I don't send money to any man
I send money to African children if I know them
That's reason why I have been there many times but money for men, I simply , don't do that
I found only a Scammer who could let me do it, but when I opened my eyes, I started to suspect and he disappeared but most of the time they are a mafia and give our address to others
But I dont hidde my version and tell them that they are scammer
They, initially, deny but they can't say different and search for another woman
Where I live an US Army destroyed the life of a woman
She visited him in USA and he did not ask for money
But when she came back home he created a story and she borrowed money in the bank, after she sent him the money, he disappeared
She was devasted and was interviewed on local newspaper
She sent 9000 dollars
It's a chaos
