I'm sorry to have to tell you that it is definitely a scam.

You will NEVER request leave, phone, or anything else for a soldier. A soldier will request his own leave, and he does it inside the military. You will have no part of it. Even a wife cannot request leave for a soldier.

Leave also costs nothing. It is like vacation. It is earned, and there are no fees to be paid.

ou have NEVER been in contact with anyone from the US miltary. African scammers have made up these fake policies, forms, and fees as a way to steal money from unsuspecting victims. Any email addresses for their commanding officer, or leave department, etc. are owned by the scammer, and anything you send to the "US military" is actually going to the scammer and his accomplices.

The moment a "soldier" asks you to request something for him, or pay fees for leave or phone, you can know for certain that he is an African scammer, not an American soldier.

The best thing you can do is cut off all contact with this thief immediately.

Everything he has told you about communication with the military in Afghanistan is a lie. Soldiers even receive free phone time to make calls back home and don't require their own phone to make them. As regards e-mail, ask him for his soldier's AKO (Army Knowledge Online) email address. If he can't give you his official military address he isn't a soldier. Beware that he might 'spoof' the address, but it's easy to tell if he's doing that from looking at the header.

If he can send you an e-mail he can set up skype and talk to you free, without cost, any time he can e-mail you.

He doesn't want to speak to you because it'll be obvious to you that he's actually an African. If you want an African boyfriend, that's no problem, but this one is a lying scammer and thief who steals for a living, and his only interest in you is to steal your money.

Talking to him is a waste of time because everything he says is a lie.

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle

Pay attention stefani. Is very important you cease all communications with this grubby imposter! If you scroll to the top right hand side of this page, you see the site search box. Type in the words, military scam, military phone or something similar and the results will amaze you. You will clearly see what you describe because these type of scams are littered throughout the forums I'm sad to say. If the scammer keeps trying to communicate, simply block it. The person is not real because you are not communicating with anyone from the US military. Sorry for being so blunt but it's better you know the true facts than all the lies and deceit the trickster told you.

If he doesn't have skype on his laptop then the US military have computers set up with Skype especially for soldiers to use.

if he doesn't know this then he is not in the military.

The American military have computers set up with Skype specially for use by soldiers. Using Skype isn't a problem in Afghanistan. It's a problem if you're a scammer located in Africa. :D

My psychic powers tell me that he'll have an urgent illness in the family and/or urgent need for leave, which for some peculiar reason scammers think soldiers have to buy.

If you treat him as a pen pal you'll receive lots of exciting mails - sickness and death in the family, consignments of gold bullion he wants to send you - but you have to keep paying to get his next exciting instalment.

The details he gives you will most likely be fake and reporting an internet scammer to the Nigerian police isn't going to do much good, I regret to say.

Don't say anything - just ignore him. He will be trying to scam a lot of other people so he'll concentrate on the others.

More likely not Stefani. Sorry - that is not the news you seek. The local police in your area are not equipped to help you with scammers and would be outside their jurisdiction anyway. It is pointless reporting a scammer to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in nigeria because they will ignore and sweep your concerns under the carpet, so to speak. And no action will follow. Many scammerss using throw away email addresses and utilising computers at internet cafes. These computers would be used by many people during the day which makes traceablity difficult. A residential address could be fake? And I now notice the efcc's own webpage has been compromised. If that site has been hacked, someone has taken control of the site without the owner’s permission. Hackers may change the content of a page, add new links on a page, or add new pages to the site. The intent can include phishing (tricking users into sharing personal and credit card information) or spamming. I am certainly not suggesting nor saying everyone is bad in nigeria. But corruption and graft is commonplace in that part of Africa and reporting internet scam to nigeria authorities would be a waste of time.

Hello ,
It's strange because I know he using. BlackBerry phone because first when we started chatting he also told me we can chat on the Facebook and there I seen he is on the phone and also when he put to Facebook his pictures was from blackberry phone so I think he using only phone.so I think he always using only phone these is strange for me.

It isn't strange or even unusual.

You're dealing with a professional thief and liar who steals money for a living. Everything he says is a lie which is why he tells you can't call you from his military base when you can see that this is exactly how he communicates with you. You sent the money to Nigeria for the simple reason that it's where he lives. The army don't allow soldiers to spend all day on the internet which is where you can find internet scammers.

He doesn't want to be your boyfriend or he would tell you the truth. If someone lies and disrespects you he doesn't want to be your boyfriend, he wants your money. He will be your boyfriend as long as you keep paying him money, but don't be fooled in to believing he is in the army. He's sitting in an internet cafe in Nigeria telling hundreds of women around the world the same lies. The money you send him he uses to pay for a 'local' girlfriend.

Western troops in Iraq or Afghanistan don't need money. They get paid a salary and have little to spend it on. Scammers in Nigeria are greedy and want lots of money and they'll tell any lie to get it.

You know he's a liar. Whether you want to keep throwing your money away is up to you, but you'll never see him. The truth is hard to accept and it's upsetting to realise you've wasted your money, but the alternative is to throw away more money with the same result.
