Am I being scammed

Have recently been in contact with a man who says he is in the military. Have been talking with him for several weeks. Met on site called Badoo. . . He has asked me to send money. At this point I have not. He is now asking me to open a account, a new account, so that he may send his military check in to. Just seems very weird to me that someone who is supposed to be in the military full time not have all this set up already. His name is Captain Richard Jones of the US Army.
