My experience was his using the first name listed here eventually but going by "Gary" on eHarmony. When asking the "Match" (me) to go to regular email like Yahoo Mail, he said that "you will really want to use Yahoo Messenger and leave it on." Fortunately, I uninstalled M essenger and Blocked Sender. He comes across as absolutely swept off his feet and uses words and phrases like "Hello, Beautiful" or "Do this soon, dear...." He soon warned me that eHarmony said his profile had been compromised and he wasn't going to open a new one or be on any other website for dating. All of this was within 24 hours of the "match."

He was "locked out" of eHarmony and I received an email from them just telling me to find more matches as this one "Gary from Hamilton, NC" was no longer available. THis occurred just after he told me the same. One of his "tips" that he wasn't legit was asking me if we could continue and then saying, "Thank you for believing me." He was never irrate that his identity had been misused. He's on Facebook, yes, and also LinkedIn or at least he was. Wish I had known about this website before I was so trusting. He asked me some very personal questions after trying to disarm me by telling me details about himself. I did not answer--at all. I believe those techniques have worked before or he wouldn't be so confident I would do what he asked!

Welcome to ScamWarners Privateye, I am sorry you got taken in by this person. I hope you didn't lose any money to this scam artist.

Please post up the email address he was using to contact you off of Match. We have people who search to see if they are dealing with a scammer, using the email address. Thank you.
