I have been in contact with someone I met on chemistry.com(he was there for the free communication weekend). A Colonel in the US Army, Special ops-Delta force ([email protected])... Presently serving in Kabul, Afghanistan: "I served my first tour as an Aeroscout Platoon Leader in the 5th Infantry Division, Ft. Polk, Louisiana. My next assignment was as the Assistant S3, 1-502d ATK AVN Regt, 2AD, Ft. Hood, Texas; followed by S2, 1-4th ATK AVN Regt, 4ID, Ft. Hood. After attending the MI Advanced Course, I served as the S4, 3rd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regt, Republic of Korea. Upon return from Korea, I served as the S1, 1-3d ATK AVN Regt, 3ID, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. I then commanded Alpha Company, 1-3d ATK AVN Regt, 3ID, Hunter Army Airfield. After attending Army Command and General Staff College, i served as the Brigade S3, and later as the Brigade XO, of the 21st Cavalry Brigade, Ft. Hood. In 2005, I was selected to be the Brigade S3, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4ID, Ft. Hood, and served in that position throughout the unit’s deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom 2005-06. My most recent assignment was as the G3 Chief of Current Operations/Aviation, Early Entry Command Post (Airborne), USARAK, Ft. Richardson, Alaska."
Surprised at how fast we fell in ‘love’, ‘we have so much in common’, I have’ made him the happiest man in the world’ etc… He has asked me some questions that I have honestly answered,; one of which was if I had money problems. Through chats on Yahoo messenger, we both have stated that we want to hear each other. He informed me his handler said I could have a military sat-phone (that I would pay to have activated-$875.00) from [email protected]. They ask for information

Thankyou for posting the information. The real military personnel do not ask members of the public for money, phones and the like. Part of our tax payers dollars that we all pay in taxation is how the military is funded. And indeed the military phone scam has been around for quite some time. re: Here is the payment information of our agent available for pick up via WESTERN UNION which is more effective and faster. Yes, it's a more effective way for the thieving trickster to rip you off. Also the money transference is quicker and would be a faster method of you losing your money. That is why scammers favour wu. There would be no recourse open to you to be able to recover your money.

Thank you jolly! How do I go about reporting this, and stop this... he is still asking me to wire the money. At this point he does not know that I know of the scam.I have been stringing him along today with a sad story. Who do I call

Just ignore everything he says. Don't give him any clue why you stopped responding.

If there are any fake websites or domains that the scammer paid for, let us know. usa.com and yahoo.com are domains of free email addresses, we don't kill them. But domains like armyatwarzone.com we do.

It's unfortunate nothing will be done to apprehend the trickster. Your local police are powerless as the scammer will be overseas and out of their reach. One of the best things for people to do is post as much info as possible. Others will see the report when conducting their internet searches and will see your post. Thus greatly reducing having their fingers burnt by the slippery trickster. Very important you do not confront the scammer or divulge the fact you know of the scam because you will only be told more lies.
You could perhaps visit your local police who may be able to advise where to report the scammer? Not sure your location but if in the USA, apparently IC3 accept reports on scammers. At least if you make a report, the authorities are made aware of the scam and you have covered yourself.
