It is extremely unlikely that your scammer is either Amercian or in the UK...its the typical "geographical confusion" that scammers tend to spin out! He does not own a gallery nor has a son there!
What you were dealing with was a lying criminal deliquent boy in West Africa who scams for a living ....everything he told you would be a lie!

I knew there was something off about him.
I just hope his lies didn't work on other women. He had half a dozen pics with his son who looked so adorable. I know some women fall for that stuff. I got 4 kids of my own and I know kids are rarely adorable
