Hi everybody,

I am Kim, I am from Vietnam. I need your helps so I come here.

A man from the UK has got acquainted with me since January 2013 in web for learning English. After some letters, he said in his letter that he loves me and would like to send me money to buy house in Vietnam in my names. But I have doubt in my mind and I have not done as he directed. Below is his letter:

"How are you today and how was your night, hope fine?

I have discussed with a lawyer in UK to help us transfer that money to you so he made so many suggestions and we came to an agreement so I decided on a better and easier means to transfer the money to you,I have appointed him and he will ensure that the money is shipped to you via diplomatic means. He has offered to pay £15,000 for the shipment to your destination and would monitor the delivery. As we both have agreed, 10% of the money will be accrued to him as legal service charge when the money gets to you for offering to pay for the shipment. It will be delivered to you by a diplomat also known as deliveryman, take note that instead of through bank, the money will now be shipped in a box officially known as diplomatic baggage. The content has been registered as diplomatic materials instead of cash, the company in possession of the baggage is same company that will ship it, it is a security company. The company is affiliated with UPS Facility Storehouse in all airports of the world.

The lawyer will further give you details, he will be the one to direct you to the security company called RAS LINUX Company. Now i want you to send email to the lawyer, tell him that you have been directed by me to contact him in order to open communication in respect of a money inside a diplomatic baggage pending to be shipped to you.

The lawyer is fake. The mistakes in his English tell me that the person writing to you is African, not British.

Email addresses from lawyer.com are free addresses from mail.com. They have no connection to any real legal firm.

Dear Mr Dotti,

Thank you very much for your help. I will not response to him any more. I am fraid that he has cheated and will do it with many girls or women. Should I warn him or post his ID so people can recognize. I think he uses photos of some else and the man in the photos is not him.

Yours truly,
Kim

If you post the name, email address, and photos he has used (we mark photos so that other scammers can't reuse them--there are instructions for posting photos in my signature--you can help others to avoid falling for this scam.

Do not confront the scammer himself, as he will only continue to lie to you. It is better if he does not learn from his mistakes as we don't want him to become a better scammer.

Yes it certainly is a scammer trying to trick you. I know for a fact the address of 10 Lowden Street has been previouly used in several scams before. Perhaps the scammer has recently moved to 18? Cease corresponding with the scammer is a good idea. Do not tell the scammer of your suspicion because it will only tell more lies.
The sleazebags are very good at lies, deceit and trickery. As Dotti indicated, the lawyers address is fake. Anyone can visit mail.com and sign for an email address there. (It is the same as yahoo etcetera)
What should you do with the mail? Simply delete it, ignore the scammer and do not worry.
