Checking out if he is a scammer

Does anyone know of a Romance scammer using Toronto 44 on any sites. He claims he works at 245 Tavern in downtown Pittsburgh and is from Canada. He uses the name Mike but his cell number of 412 225 5670 comes up with another guys name on Spokeo . He claims he lives in Brookline part of Pittsburgh, Pa. Now claims last name of Mike Hay. Any insight would be helpful.

Which sites is he registered at? the phone number doesn't 'Google' and the name Mike Hay is too common to search.

He is registered on POF and his birhtday and age do not match to what he states it is. The site has that he is Leo which would put his birthday in the summer. He also claims on that site that he is 47 but told me he is 52 and his birthday is November 17, 1960. I have been approached by several scammers in the past and know what to watch for. Also no I have not alerted him to the fact that I am checking if he is a real person or not. So any help would be appreciated.

Usually the profile itself and the first message or two will be the most useful for determining whether it is a scammer. As IG stated, the name is common, and there are many real individuals with the name, but verifying that such a person exists does not guarantee that the person you are talking to is the real person.
