Curtis Miller [email protected] stated that US Army 82nd Airborne stationed in Afghanistan and would be retiring soon. We chatted for a while and it seemed to me that he was avoiding certain questions. So I asked him. Had said that it was better for him to chat on yahoo on duty and that was the first RED FLAG. Military in war zone that is a NO NO. Stated he lost his parents at age 7 no explanation. Most would have....would have to email me more about himself. Second RED FLAG. I asked for his address because my church sends cards and other items to military personnel because we are 15 minutes from Fort Bragg and our community is touched by many military families. He stated difficult to receive mail would have to go through diplomat. I said REALLY??? Since when???? Third RED FLAG ....... Will post the email at the end that was Fourth RED FLAG!! What is sad in these situations are our military personnel information that is being used to do this.

Subject: About me

Hello my dear, I'm so happy to have met you.But i think God knows everything.I don't tell everybody what am about to tell you now, just think you need to know I lost my parents at the age of 7 and the only child of my parents, when my parents past away, i was totally ignored by my relatives. But God so kind, i was picked up and raised by a Catholic Priest Mathew Gibson who is now late. The Priest introduce me to the military academy in West point New York. This is how i found myself being a US Military. I
really thank God for my life today for at least given me the opportunity to see my life going in His way.I'm sorry about my fb we are not allowed to use the social media while on duty that is why i prefer here or better still yahoo messenger.... I'm not married at all but looking for nice woman to spend the rest of my life with. I enjoy exercising daily which either involves weight training or aerobics. I think it is important to exercise and eating very healthy meals. I love to go out dancing, to nice romantic dinners and shopping at large malls like the Mall of America. I enjoy romantic music and slow dancing as well an fast dancing. I prefer romantic, attractive, affectionate woman. I believe that romance is a very important part of the relationship. I enjoy women who are confident with themselves and are not afraid to express themselves in a diplomatic way. This is all i got to say for now, God bless
CURTIS...

Needless to say whoever it was posing as Curtis Miller did not chat back with me on my last reply!!! Let's close them down!~

I've also have been tried to be scammed using the picture of this person. His story was the same as artistlady40 has explained. In my case, his name was Stuart Barnes, a soldier from Bronx, New York, that currently is in Kabul. Nowadays his Facebook profile is Stuart Barnes, although I have already reported his false identity. His e-mail account on Yahoo messenger is [email protected]. Luckily, as everything sounded so strange and out of place I stopped getting in touch with him. On the other hand, I have to say that his level of English is worse than mine.
I hope our experiences serve people not to be so easily deceived by these miserable.

I know I must seem pretty silly but "Stuart Barnes" was not the only military U.S. Army deployed to Afghanistan who tried to scam me.
It was also "Willis Montour", as he said, the leader of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Divison in Kabul. He got in touch with me as a result of my support to Amnesty International and literally said "I hope every body can join us in any way I or she can to fight for peace and help you to make peace for our children and give them a peaceful world to live". After a couple of days telling me stories difficult to believe, he said "I am in US military force; currently I am among the soldier in Afghanistan on peace keeping mission here in Afghanistan, several times we have discovered treasures like Gold, Diamond, Cash etc, these treasure are discovered after exchanging fire with the Taliban's at their hide out place, these are the treasures the Taliban’s uses to purchase war materials they are using to kill the innocent people while some innocent motherless children continue to suffer in hunger. When we discover such treasures, we always send it to government to support the charity but recent because of the high corruption in the government, instead of using the money to help the charity, one top government official will divert the money into a personal account for inheritance to unborn babies while some of them use it to run their political ambition. inheritance to unborn babies while already born children continue to live and cry in hunger, some time government will use the money to produce more war materials so i am not happy with the government or the Taliban. The Taliban's want to take over the country so that they will continue impressing the Afghan people with Arabic laws. Because of that i have stop sending any treasure we discovered to the Government, I now want it to be used to help the poor children. If i can have your support, I am going to team up with you because i really need a trusted person like you who can receive gift from me and distribute it among the poor children. any body will to do this with me, i am going to make sure we go a long way helping the poor through she/he". When I read this, I could not believe what he was telling to me and I told him on the Facebook chat that I was working and that I could not continue writing. Later, I was looking for information on the Internet about the U.S. Army soldiers deployed in Kabul and I could found the website: http://usgovinfo.about.com/b/2011 / 10/24/fake-us-soldiers-robbing-women-online.htm
I was also looking for information about the 2nd Brigade Combat Team and I realized that, in fact, there was a true Command Sgt. Shift. JOE MONTOUR, of Amarillo, Texas, but not WILLIS MONTOUR from Atlanta, Georgia. I subtly asked him his AKO email address (Army Knowledge Online) to talk more about this subject. He gave me the following email address: [email protected], that, of course, isn't an AKO email account.
As you can see, there are a lot of crooks playing with people and with their feelings and money. I am reporting this because I wish there were no more women scammed by these unscrupulous people.
I send two pictures of the true JOE Montour, who I met as WILLIS Montour.

He is now going by James Fred on FB and his yahoo email is [email protected]. Same exact picture with the sunglasses. Sounded very believable didn't try to get any money from me yet and I was talking to him for a month. It makes me feel sick that there's people like this in this world.

He is now on Facebook posing as Justin Dickson. Actually it's listed under Serg Justin and has a different pic. He is supposedly in the marines and is a gunnery sergeant. He was so nice and sent lots of pics. He gets so mad so quickly though. First week he was saying he loved me. His wife died this time last year of lymphoma. When he first contacted me, I noticed I knew his friends. One worked with me. I tried to fix him up with her but she blocked him when he was acting all angry. He also has a 10 year old son in a Crèche house in Canada. Parents are dead. I have pic of dad with his son when son was 3. Idk, maybe this is really him? He has so many military pics and of Isis. I wish I knew who this real guy in pic is? He even sent pic of genitals. You could se the camo shirt. Ugh, blushing. I'm so confused. Now he's wanted to send me his medals and cash. It got stuck in customs in Bangkok for excess baggage. The delivery company is Skyrocket Delivery. Never gave me username and password but a tracking number that followed package and looks legit. Of course I don't have $1758 to pay! What's the deal? I know better. I actually went to bank and they refused to send money to Bangkok bank because it is scam. I found you guys on here. Has anyone ever heard of skyrocket delivery? Sure wish we could tell the real guy this. Oh, what I was saying about my friend that blocked him, she knew one of his other friends personally and asked about his story. She said it was true. She knew because she went to school with him. So I'm thinking the real guy lived around here in Western NC or north Georgia. I'm so disappointed in people.

He is a scammer. Scammers will steal the identity of real people for the purpose of their scam.

Thanks Bryon! Yes, I talked to my husband about this. He was a cop for 18 years and now a magistrate judge for 15. He has preached over years about this but I could never wrap my head around it. I can't believe people would stoop to this. So, I would give anything, just out of curiosity where the guy in pic is and if he is in on it. I feel that he is because whatever pic I asked for he delivered the next day. Hmm. Some people have no conscience. Thank you Bryon for all your help

That is definitely not the case - the person (or persons) in the photographs used by the scammer have had their pictures stolen from their social media sites, military websites or wherever else the scammers can find them. The may or may not know that their pictures are being used by scammers (and if they do, there is nothing they can do about it) or may even be deceased.

Any requests of yours that the scammer has asked for will either have been found on the Internet (possibly of someone else that looks like the person in the other photos) or photshoped to give you what you requested.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Thank you Alan! I can't get over the lengths these people will go to or the technology out there to fake pictures and photoshop them. It is amazing. Wow. It's really sad that there's nothing to be done. I guess we should be glad they are in another country and this is all they've done to us. We stil have our lives and family. It's so odd his friends were all people I know around here and one said they went to school with him. His wife did die last year. So I think the guy in pic is from here but hasn't a clue. Oh well, anyway, these scammers go to great lengths and extensive measures. And my FB is set to private so I don't know how they even saw my pic. Of course my 20 year old daughter and my hubby that's a magistrate judge laugh at me for being naive. He said he writes so many warrants for Facebook every day! I think I will go back to reading paper backs and stay off computer. I'm so gullible and feel sorry for every one. And believe their story. I'm so embarrassed.
