Information on romance scams and scammers.

After being scammed by Sgt. Timothy Nein I'm no longer an active searcher but I still get "interests" and emails.
Last week I received an email from a French guy that just rubbed me the wrong way, he was far too interested in my kids, he wanted to chat via YM and wanted to see my kids. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I have to look after my 3 little girls.
so.... I just wanted to know if there's a database for known pervs and pedophiles. It would be a great help for single moms out there.

??? There are most likely forums out there that deal with this sort of thing. The problem is that some facts may be wrong or made up. A web search might help but keep an open mind until you find a site that seems level headed.

It's not something we deal with here though.

"Safety first" is definitely the best motto.
If someone is clearly being inappropriate and makes any sexually suggestive comments about your children, the best thing to do is report it to the authorities. They don't look kindly on pedophiles.

But--I can also tell you that this is a very typical approach of scammers as well. They won't hesitate to pull the children into the scam, promising to be their new daddy, for the sole purpose of making it harder for mom to pull away when she becomes suspicious. Plus, they know that a woman who is willing to put her children on chat with him is most more trusting and therefore a better target.
