100% scam.

As more victims begin to understand that real army email addresses end in .army.mil, more scammers are pretending to have these addresses. Often a scammer will tell you not to send anything to that address, giving an excuse for why you should not (for example, he might claim that you will be blocked for security reasons.)

In reality, the reason you got a failure notice is because the address doesn't exist. He simply made up the address in hopes that it would make you believe he is real.

It is very common for scammers to claim that they don't want anything from you. They will continue to do this until they think that you have fallen in love, then suddenly they will want something.

He also messed up his fake name, but I won't explain why in case he sees this.

If you have corresponded with him via email or IM, please post the address he used here, as well as his early messages to you, to help others to avoid falling for the same scam.
