Similar to another posting here I have also been scammed by this person from Cape Town, South Africa. Around the same time April 23, 2013 I was contacted by Joshua McLenny thru match.com. He claimed to be a computer engineer who was a contractor and he was working on a bid in Melbourne. After winning the bid had to urgently go to Chicago where his clients were. Next contact he was on a navy ship off the coast of USA doing secret work and contact was not constant. The money scam started with he phoned me from the ship to ask for my help as his assistant who was working in South Africa whilst he was on the ship, had to urgently get funds to apply for special permits in Cape Town and given Joshua was on the ship he had no way of getting money to them. So I agreed to help with the understanding that the moment he was off the ship he was to repay me, which he assured me he would do. The name of the assistant was Jerry Babel.
All along I was receiving lots of romantic emails with such beautiful words - beware of this man as he is very good at writing beautiful words that suck you in.
A couple of weeks later with only email contact I finally get a phone call from Joshua to find out he had been off the ship at least a week prior and was now in Capetown, South Africa. When asked for the return of my money he then told me he was having difficulties with his offshore account in China.
Then came a further request for more money as he needed to get back to Australia to sort out the difficulties he was having in China. After a couple of weeks of not giving in to him for these requests I finally did. Once I gave him the money and promises I will see you next week I have not heard from him since in any shape or form. All yahoo IM contact has ceased as well. He is very good at yahoo IM (engjshmc)when he wants something and uses phone calls a lot when it comes to money requests, otherwise he keeps his contact to email and always with very flattering words. I dont believe now that the photo given is the person behind this scam as the person of the scam is too young and giggly which I had my doubts all along. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/832/0sxa.jpg/
