Then comes the first request for money:

There's no problem since you don't believe me I want you to contact my flight agent so that I can come to you face to face in your country all you have to do is to book a flight ticket for me I will give you the flight ticket name and address now so that you can send the money to him the money is just 1250 euro I promise to come to you if you pay my flight money thanks your love Joseph.If you agree write back and I will give you the information for how to send to the flight agent

If the victim sais no to this or hesitates too long he will then go on to state that there is a "parcel" or "package" containing his personal possessions that needs to be shipped to the victim. He will then suggest that the "package" or "box" contains valuables of some sort - perhaps spoils of war - money or other valuables that the victim must pay to get in the country.

This is the point in the scam where the "flight agent" or "shipping company" is introduced: [email protected] or [email protected] - neither of these mails is connected with a legitimate company.

The company will ask for all sorts of fees for customs and tax and transport and admin and special authorization for release and for secure delivery - the list of payments is as long as the scammer can make it, and will continue to grow for as long as the victim pays.
