In the US army is it possible to receive a fine for a Court Marshall? The guy who i am talking to goes by the name Alex Jordan---Staff Sergent AKO\E6/ALEXJORDEN 2990).He has told me he has been Court Marshalled because when he was on a mission and a civilian was shot, not by him but by someone in his unit.Alex Jorden got a fine for this and if he can't pay he will be locked up(his words not mine). He asked me if i could help with the $3000 fine and if i could can i send the money to Kristen Meade at Zip 79924,El Paso,Texes. When i asked why can't i send the money to him he said no because he couldn't receive or go out of compound to get until this mess is sorted out.He found me on a site called Pen Pal World but soon moved to Yahoo Messenger, the name he uses on that is alexjordan2709. And his e-mail is [email protected]

Could you tell me if this is a real solider and if this a known scam?

He is not a soldier. He is a scammer. He is most likely African, and has probably never even set foot in the US, let alone a military base!

There are so many things wrong with that story that I don't even know where to begin. No, that's not how things work.)
-There is no "pay a fine or be locked up" scenario in the US military.
- If he were being held facing a court martial, he wouldn't be able to be online begging you for money.
- One soldier does not get charged for another's actions.
- Soldiers are paid. If a soldier owed the military money for any reason (and this would not be one!) then the US military would just take it from his wages.

The best thing you can do is cut off all contact with this thief. If you confront him, all he will do is tell you more lies.
