Iv been talking to a British soldier serving in Afghanistan, I have a few photos that I can show. Last night he asked me would I western union £300 to a diplomat who could pay for his Internet access, as he can't access his own money. He said he was paid up until next year at the camp he's in right now, but because he's moving camp, he needs a new Internet access. He also told me, he can't use the phone as its forbidden. He is supposedly moving camp tomorrow and needs the money now, otherwise we can't have contact, oh BTW, he says he's in love with me, he sent me a photo of "him" holding a banner saying, Will You Marry Me, this is after speaking for only ten days or so. How do I find out, who is really in the photos, and who it is I'm speaking to.

Welcome to Scamwarners Chaomin1,

Yes, you are chatting with a Military Romance Scammer. We will never know exactly who he is exactly. I will say he is probably in Africa sitting in an internet cafe typing to you and other women.

The photo's he is using are stolen. The real owner more than likely knows this. He is a victim of the scammer also. These victims do not want to be contacted or bothered. They are trying to move on with their lives as you would understand.

Every thing the scammer told you is a lie. He has access to his money. Diplomats do not deal with individuals or military personel. The military will give him free internet access at camp/base. The reason he can not use the phone is because he does not want you to hear his African accent.

Please post the email address the scammer used with you. This will help other women avoid his scam attempts. Also post a couple of his initial emails to you. Please remove your personal information.

What he is saying is: If I can not steal money from you then I need to move on to another possible victim.

otherwise we can't have contact,

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

Thank you. I knew the minute he started saying he loved me something wasn't right lol. His email he used to contact me is [email protected]. He said its his surname first then his forename which he said is Williams, He claims to be part Italian, very sad story, he told me his pregnant wife was killed in a car accident 7yrs ago, he's an only child and his parents are dead too, And he only has a few friends I didn't know one person could have so much bad luck in one lifetime. I wanted to get this info on somewhere to warn other women, maybe not as cynical as I am. I would love to know how to post the photos. He also has a facebook account, Williams Dalesio, says he went to Oxford Brookes university, the pictures he sent me are also on ther, he only has two friends on there. And they both have the same name, from different parts of the US,Thank you so much, this is a brilliant site very helpful.

The real man in the photos:

Unfortunately, Murphy's photos have been quite popular with scammers, and have been associated with dozens (dozens have been identified, which means that in reality there are probably hundreds) of fake profiles created for the sole purpose of scamming women (and in some cases men, as there have been fake gay profiles as well)

I just reported this man on Oasis.com, but I'm not convinced its taken seriously. It just says that if there are multable complaints about his profile, they will look into it. How do I warn other women on that site myself. He needs to be stopped, God knows what other sites he's using.
