Hi
a couple of days ago 'David Mack' contacted me stating he wanted to find someone to start a serious relationship with. So I got chatting to him said all the right things and asked me to delete my profile from POF as he wanted no one else to come between us. what a fool. After the first evening I received a heart rendering 'essay' which was very emotional! we got chatting again and the conversations were short and the grammar a little off. I know with texting we don't always use correct grammar so let that go. then 3rd evening another 'essay' arrived. alarm bells started ringing. was this the same man who couldn't string more then 2 sentences together? so I copied and pasted parts of both essays and they came up on scam website!! he sent photos of himself and his son. his wife died, his parents died. no family in US and his on was being looked after by a carer in the US. his email is [email protected]. I read that us personnel have their own military email to use. I feel such a fool for falling for it. I have now asked for an address to send some luxury items to him I did before but he he didn't need any. should I continue and get as much info as possible or just ignore the emails?

Welcome to the forums Debbie1964. I'm sorry such a sad story has brought you here.
Please don't be too harsh on yourself. The slimy tricksters are good at what they do and sad to say the forums are simply littered with the military type scams. You ask the question, should I continue and get as much info as possible or just ignore the emails? Everything the trickster has told you is a lie and basically you're in touch with a non existent person. It would be better to simply stop all communications with said scammer because it's pointless continuing. No useful information would be forthcoming because scammers are masters at lies, deception and it's only interest in life would be getting it's grubby hand inside your purse.

I curiously asked to send something to him as suggested on a scam website and was given this email address. He said I have to ask to send things to them first. Do you think it is a legitimate email [email protected]. I just want to confirm my suspicions are correct and then cut off all ties!!

Thank you for your response. I'm sure i'm not the first to be scammed and very much doubt I will be the last!! at least the alarm bells started ringing early before getting too involved.

thanks again!!

The email address [email protected] does not belong to any Military in the World. It is an email address that is free just like yahoo, gmail and hotmail.

[email protected] is a fake Military Address.

The scammer will always lie and lie to you more when you confront him. Yes, it is best to stop all communications with him.

He may contact you again using a different name and email address in the future. He will try to scam you again.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

Thank you for your speedy reply.

I now feel a lot better in the fact that I have uncovered his scam and I shall no longer reply to any of his communications.
it's a huge relief to know but also an abuse of my trust!!
it will make me even more wary of men in general!!

Unfortunate to say POF is another so called internet dating site which is filled with scammers. Normally anytime you see military person + internet dating site - be very wary indeed.

thank you for all your advise. He contacted me last night and when I asked for us to Skype he said he couldn't! I had searched the web and found that the military are very keen on their personnel keeping in touch with loved ones via Skype. then I asked for his military email address and he said he had one. when I said what is it? I've had no reply back! He's been busted!!
Once again thank you for your help and advise. This website is brilliant and I would probably have been scammed without it's help
so a big thank you!!! :=)

@Debbie1964

Now that you have satisfied yourself. You really need to stop all contact with the scammer. He will only lie to you as previously stated. Once again if you confront him, he will lie or not answer. He is only in love with your money.

I have no intention of contacting him again. It has made me more wary now of social websites.
Thanks for the advise. It was much appreciated and helpful.
