Hi,

My name is Removed (BW) and for the last couple of weeks I have been exchanging e-mails and having chats with a man I met at ChristianMingle.com. This man talks very sweet but just a couple of days ago he asked me for a favor. He wanted me to contact a security company on his behalf because according to him he was in Kabul, Afghanistan and was not able to do it himself.I will like to post part of the chats with him so that you can tell me if this is a scam even though I kind of feel it is:

calvin marc:Honey write to them that you're wife and i contacted you

After he asked me this I started saying that I believed this was a scam and left the conversation. He keeps on sending me chats trying to be a victim. I have a feeling he is trying to scam me. He said he is widower, with a 7 year old little girl who the government takes care of her in Canada. His wife supposedly died 4 years ago. He is an only child and his parents died as well. Is like the stories are similar. I am glad I did not give in. He sent me picks of him and also his daughter. At the beginning I thought he was telling me the truth but when he asked me to do that for him, something so private I kind of like say, something is not right.

Please let me know if anyone knows about this Calvin...He said his name is Captain Adam Calvin Mark but he also has a Facebook name Adam Bellick.

Thanks for all your help.

Bog standard African romance scammer.

Even without the whole bogus "security" company scenario, his English makes it quite evident that he is African, NOT American, and NOT Canadian (I'm not sure which he is pretending to be.)

Neither the American nor the Canadian government will deploy a soldier overseas without some kind of care plan for their child--and that care plan does NOT include the government taking care of the child. (If he is claiming to be American, his child would also be eligible for military benefits and would NOT be in Canada.) In addition, soldiers do not make anywhere near 5,000,000 for missions, no matter how risky or important they are--and the pay they do get from the government is put in a bank, not a random "security company" in another country!

Email addresses at consultant.com are free addresses just like yahoo addresses or gmail addresses. They are not used by legitimate businesses to conduct business, period.

If you contacted the (fake) security company, soon there would be a problem, and you would need to send money to release his (nonexistent) money. If you paid that money, more excuses, more stories, and more demands would continue, until you stopped paying or could no longer gather any money. As to the man in the photos--you will never meet him, because you have never been talking to him. The scammer doesn't even know him--he just copied some photos off the internet and uses them for his scam.

Thanks I kind of knew something was wrong but was hoping it was a mistake. Thank God I never contacted the company or give any personal information but I thought people should know this is happening and I didn't want any other women who are looking for companionship to go through what I went through because I met him at a Christian Site. Thanks so much for ScamWarmners.com for all the help you give us. May the Lord continued to bless you always.
