Information on romance scams and scammers.

Hi

I have been contacted by a us soldier who claims to be with the UN troops on a peacemaking mission in Africa (Nigeria). He asked if I want to see him and that he is getting hes leaves soon. He is not talking about the USA. Tells that he wants to live in Germany.

Friends told me to be careful cose I'm a widowed mother and that seems to be the perfect "prey" for them.

I asked him to give me his E-mail and yahoo id.

yahoo id is Mikkysegzy1
[email protected]

He has several friends on fb. I think they should be warned, if you can approve he's a scammer.

I can send you pictures of him (I couldn't put them in here).

Thank you for looking into this.

I don't think the USA has any troops in Nigeria, but Nigeria is the origin of many scams. You can chat all you want but do not send money. No matter the reason, do not send money.

Please sign up at http://scamwarners.com and upload the pictures there, marking them as fake. I'm not aware of any peacemaking mission in Nigeria, soldiers on active duty don't have time to look for mates on the Internet, and any soldier who needs you to do anything to get leave is not a soldier.

This is the second time I have heard today that a soldier says he is located in Nigeria. You should be warned you are talking to a scammer, he's just being more up front about his location to throw you off. Please stop contact with this person. It can only lead to lies and requests for money. It always ends that way. We are glad you came here to scamwarners to confirm what you knew.

Also post the messages he sent, in case someone searches for text in them. Scammers say the same things to lots of people.

Hi katinka, did a little Internet investigating. There are no peacekeeping troops in Nigeria. Please understand you are in contact with a scammer, posing as a soldier and he is only wanting one thing- your money. Scammers can have Facebook accounts, so don't be fooled by that.
I had a scammer who used different tactics to not sound like what you often see here. But they all end the same. Make sure you don't continue contact, as this person will only try as hard as they can to convince you their story is real. And they are very good at it. And yes, being a widowed mother makes you the perfect prey.
If you continue with online dating sites, know that scammers are on most if not all of them. You may want to change your profile or you can just watch for the signs you see in the stories here. If you have any suspicions, don't hesitate to ask us.
Good luck! It's horrible to just want to connect with someone to find love and instead you get a lying scammer. The same happened to me and I've just learned to be safe and connect more with friends around me.
