You are in contact with a scammer!

Military personnel never pay fees for their leave and Western Union payments are anonymous and never used by government departments.
Official military emails do not come from free email domains such as hotmail.com.

If you are corresponding with someone who claims to be from any branch of the US military, and he asks you to complete ANY military forms, or you are contacted by any "military official" in relation to him/her, it is a scam.

Please drop contact with this person and post any relevant evidence, such as email addresses and names used in the scam as this will help others who do a little research on their potential lover.

It is worth reading the contents of the following link, which outlines military scams such as this one.

The writing style is that of a West African. No one in the US military needs the help of anyone outside the military to get leave, no one pays to get leave, and everyone in the military has an address ending in .mil. Please post the email address of this fake soldier, so that potential victims can recognize him before they get to the leave stage.

Don't tell the scammer that you know he's a scammer. Just ignore all messages from him.

I am sorry Emily. Your 'soldier' is a fake. Real military personnel do not (never) ask people for money. The scammer is filling your head with lies and false hope. Sorry this happened to you.
If you can, look at http://www.cid.army.mil/romance_scam.html
Your best course of action is to cease all communications with the scam artist with immediate effect.

Hi elemy banga, glad you came here to scamwarners. I hope you have heeded the other's advice and have cut off contact. The military scammers have been around a lot this holiday season, all to make sure they steal your money. It doesn't sound like you had communicated very long but I'm sure this person did their best to steal the worst prize of all- your heart. They like to include a child so you will feel extra sympathy for them as well. I hope you now see it was just to get your money and not based on the truth. It hurts to be in this situation- you were looking for a friend or someone to love you and it's not right that a scammer contacted you instead.
If you have any doubts about whether or not this person is a scammer, please understand we wouldn't say so if we didn't know the truth. It is hard to deal with the reality but oh so important. I got scammed and I really didn't want to hear it but I needed to.

A small addition Emily. If you scroll to the top of this page, there is the site search function on the right hand side. Try typing in the words: soldier, military scam, army or words to that effect. The results that materialise on the screen will amaze you. If you read through some of the posts you see, a familiar theme soon emerges which is the same descriptive as you posted.

BIG SCAM!
Thank God you came here!

The U.S. Military would NEVER EVER make a soldier or their family pay for leave.

Thank God that I am a suspicious person..Sometimes it's good be like that. I opened the link about Romance scam examples of documents they used for the scam and I found it right..Those 2 documents they had sent me were there. Imagine 1,500 US dollar? That's equivalent to a very big amount in our money.

Thanks a lot for those who replied to my post. I can sleep well now without thinking of him and his son.

Again, thank you and may God bless you all. Happy New Year to all of us.

Sincerely,

Hello besitos12,
Yes it is a scam. Soldiers make their own requests. Just block and ignore all emails and don't even bother telling him that you know it is a scam.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon

Thank you for your reply Mike...This guy has asked for $150 for a cellphone I told him it was impossible and he said it was ok...then just recently he asked me if I could send him a golden rosary so he can pray everyday. He has also said the thing about being a widowed father and also that he has no family left what so ever...Now everything that he had asked for me to give him things I told him I do not have the funds to do it. He always has a positive attitude towards us being together and every time I say I can't help him in anyway that money is involved he disregards it and reasures me it is ok and keeps telling me that he loves me.
