Hey everyone,
I just want any women to beware of a man claiming to be a Sgt. Robert Nevill saying he is serving in Kabul Afghanistan. He befriended me on facebook in July 2013 and professed love and marriage after only a few months then that is when he started to ask for money to be paid to the US Army transit unit with the email address of [email protected] the paper work looked legitimate with the army seal on it but I have learnt that no military email is real unless it ends in mil. This fake solider and his fake transit unit tell you that you will get a money back guarantee if you pay for their travel out of Afghanistan to where ever you are located but of course this is a big lie and they want the funds sent via western union. Please people do not fall for this or send money to anything like this I have read up online that this is a huge problem a Nigerian scam network stealing real solider's photos off facebook and posing as these soliders in war zones claiming to widowers with children in the care of grandparents usually. These fake soliders prey on your kindness to get money and claim they are in love with you and want marry you and be a family just to scam some money from you they are ruthless and evil and won't blink an eye or lose sleep over what they are doing to victims. I have also found the name of the real solider who this scammer has stolen photos from on facebook the scammer only changed the first name of the real solider to assume the fake indenity so that he looked legitimate in the uniform with the last name of Nevill correct on it. I won't post on here the real soldiers first name to protect what is left of his own privacy and that of his family. But it is fairly similar to Robert the name the scammer is using. I have cut all communication with this dreadful scammer and I have informed the poor real solider via message on facebook that his image is being used fraudulently on the internet for gain by scammers so he can report them to the army himself and to facebook and protect his own family online better now.
I just hope what I have posted here has saved anyone from falling prey to these dreadful military romance scams and saved them a lot of dollars and heartache as well.
Please be careful out there on the internet for your own good.
Claire.
