I am pretty sure this guy is a scam

I had a person who called himself George Lorenzo contact me through facebook. I have been emailing him and talking on the phone for about a month. He fits most of the stuff you have described in a romance scam. He just told me his real name, well what he said was, George Aaron Giovanni. When I googled him it brought me to this site. He has sent me pictures of someone else. Maybe a brother? How do I check this out?

The person he is sending pictures of is NOT anyone he knows personally, they are just pictures he has stolen off of Public Sites. The person you are talking to is a very young man in Africa, sitting at an internet cafe talking to as many women as he can trying to get them hooked with big promises of love so he can recreuit them to either send money, or facilitate more scams. I am so glad I found this site. I thought it was too good to be true. Too bad for the guy whose pictures he keeps posting. I couldn't find the person on google search. I haven't given him much information thank goodness. I will continue to use this site in the future! Anything else I should post to warn others?

Hi suezyouknow, looks like you have very good instincts and we're thankful you came here to check things out. If you want to post more emails you can- sometimes the wording fits what another scammer might use or someone else may find this scammer using those lines on them.
I'm sure after a month you are disappointed that what looked like love potential was really just pretty words that are shown to be pretty lies. While he didn't get any of your money, I'm sure he started getting a piece of your heart. I hope you are not in contact with him and continue to be safe in your online dating life. It is hard- our only interest is in connecting with someone new and instead, some scammer decided to try to get you hooked in. Facebook seems to be their favorite playground so just beware and be safe.

All very standard scammer verbage but you know, they mix it up and sometimes that catches some people and so they believe, oh well, it doesn't fit the whole pattern so it's not true (that happened with me). Glad you saw through the scheme right away but I'm sure it still hurt a little to know you had someone wasting your time, lying to you and trying to pull you in. Once again, good instincts and thanks for your posting.
