Military quick leave scams

A man that I have been recently talking to, Capt. Henry Miller, who is stationed in Afghanistan, says that he wants me to pay for a quick leave for him to come to the States so we can marry. Is this a scam?

Yes, scam. No, don't pay. Yes, stop talking to this person.
Military leave cannot be purchased, it is an earned benefit.

It is 100% a scam. Military members do not have to pay for leave. It is part of their employment package. They also do not need anyone to pay for phones or medical care. Only West African scammers believe this. Real soldiers in combat zones are not on the internet looking for love. What precious time they have will be spent with family and love ones.

Also the Military chain of command does not recognize nor accept request from wives, children, parents or internet girlfriends.

Please post the scammer email address and a couple of his initial emails to you. This will help other women avoid him.

The service member applies for their own leave, no-one else does
Is like you with your employment because you would not pay your employer to have annual leave. It simply doesn't happen that way! If it did the unions would be quite upset ! You can scroll to the top r/h/s of this page to the site search and type in the words - military scam.
Many of the results that appear on the screen, describe exactly the same scenario as you posted. If you read some of them, it will become clearer to you. I am sorry the scam artist wasted your time.
