Hello guys,
I hope you can help with this. So here's the story:
My mom got contacted via skype by a general called David Rodriguez. I noticed that he has been a topic on this website already so I guess my story could also be a scam but not sure.
My mom lives in Germany and she doesn't even speak English and yet he started contacting her using google translator or so.
Than she told him that I (her son) wanted to go to the US and that my visa application has been rejected before.
So he contacted me telling me he had special contacts and could help me to get a visa. Than an immigration consultant contacted me telling me to send copies of passport etc. I had to pay the fee to the general.
That seemed suspicious to me so I stopped the contact.
Than once in a while he kept contacting me and my mom by inviting me to facebook and linkedin etc.
Didn't do that either.
Than I became curious and wanted to know if he was real or not so I contacted him and we agreed to meet on skype. So we did today and he had his camera on and I saw him sitting in his chair probably at his office. Very brief and we got disconnected 2 times or so and he asked me to not say anything. He said he just wanted to show me that he was real. When I saw him on camera it was always very brief (a few seconds) and he didn't talk either. I was shocked and thought he was real until now. Could someone somehow have used a recording of him?
If he is not real how can someone steal his identity? I mean how is it possible that someone steals the identity of an Army general without the Government/Army or the general himself noticing it? I mean if he has a son who is also on facebook wouldn't his son tell him that someone is using his identity? Seriously? I mean the general is on fb, linkedin etc. how can the REAL Rodriguez not notice that someone stole his identity? I thought the US's EYES are EVERYWHERE!? If the real Rodriguez types in his name online wouldn't he notice that someone is using his identity? I mean doesn't the Army safe and protect everything from fraud and what not?
Whats going on here?
Who else skyped with a general of the US-Army?
