I am quite comfortable to say that its a scam, interestingly the writing style looks like an African yet the name is a name and some of the wording is more commonly used by a Russian scammer, do you happen to have a header for this email, it should be able to expose the truth.

Hi Colin, welcome to Scamwarners.

It is common for scammers to make it look like their emails are coming from an email address that they do not own, I will not give a lesson now but when you know how you could send an email that appeared to be from from the Pope's email address if you knew what it was.

In other cases they will send their initial emails from a disposable email address knowing that the email address they use to send out many emails is likely to be flagged as a scammer and shut down.

Online scamming has evolved over many years and the scammers are getting quite proficient at it

There is one common thing to all scams and that is their victims sending them money, do not send money to a person you know only from the internet regardless of how legitimate they may seem and you will go a long way to avoiding scams

Hello Ralph, you said you wanted the header, here you go:

Good day, my good friend!?

Thanks.

Welcome Makiavelli!

What Ralph was looking for was the full or extended header, which may actually give us information about the scammer's location. If you don't know how to get the extended header, please let us know how you check your email (e.g. yahoo, hotmail, outlook, etc.) and we should be able to help you with how to get the information.
