What's new in the world of scams and ScamWarners.

Hello and thanks for reading this.

I am always looking at 2nd hand caravan deals and there seems to be a good few
really nice lets say 4 year old caravans for sale on Gumtree mostly in London
the asking price is a few thousand less than I would expect and some of the posters
started posting July 2012.

It seems that in other areas caravans are a bit dearer and the prices reflect those in general.

Can anyone please shed some light on this?

I am of the opinion if a deal or deals are too good to be true....

thank you.

Welcome to ScamWarners glencarron. A good rule of thumb is "If it sounds too good to be true, it is probably a scam".

Another one is if they ask for payment by Western Union, it is a scam. You can also use http://www.iptrackeronline.com to check the headers and often you can find out where the person is emailing from. If it doesn't fit their claim, you have reason to be suspicious.

If the phone number begins with 4470 it is a scam.

I hope this helps.
