The last UK PDLC who did this is no longer with us, and I would call in the police if anyone removes money from my account without my authority for any reason. 'WHOOPS' isn't a legally valid excuse and it wouldn't get a judge to cut me any slack in a court of law if I did it.
The volume of fraudulently opened bank accounts in the UK is an open invitation for this type of fraud to take place which a 'bugbear' to me and the many victims who report their losses on this forum. The UK financial industry need to get their house in order quickly. Perhaps the fact that their imperfect systems are being utilised to defraud them will act as a spur to put matters right.
