A man involved in a phone scam which targeted elderly and vulnerable people has been jailed…………..

Leicester Crown Court heard fraudsters rang people claiming to be police officers and bank officials to trick victims to hand over bank cards and pin numbers.

This is a very prolific and continuing widespread fraud in the UK and I wonder where these criminals are getting the victims contact details from as it is largely the elderly who are being targeted.

After being bailed by police, he continued to take part in the scam……...

He also pleaded guilty to his involvement in a separate money laundering scam where he was given a fee to get people to use their bank accounts to handle money taken from victims.

It is only fair that criminals like this are outed as widely as possible, so from the article TB linked to, the guilty low-life who targeted the elderly is Thomas Simpson (20) of Totland Road, Leicester.

Thomas Simpson was given two years for the fraud charges and an extra six months in prison for the money laundering charge.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
