I received scam from the following email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected]
They claim to be reps of an online price comparison company out of Portugal called Kuantokusta. The company Kuantokusta is legitimate and a real business with an online website, facebook page, etc...the reps claim to be part of a team helping expand the company from European to United States markets. They will say they need proofreaders to edit their text for communications to other reps and customers. Their claim is that due to the language barrier from Europe to the U.S. they will pay reps to proofread texts to improve communication and business accuracy.
I got sucked into this because I had actually looked into online proofreading jobs prior, and given my email address at I site. I assumed I was receiving a valid response and did text proof reading for them on 3 occasions before I realized it was a scam. They will promise $5 into your paypal account for each 1 KB of text proofreading work. The texts are sent in broken english, you correct them, email them back and they will send you a receipt for your work, claiming they pay every 30 days after your "probationary" period, then each 2 weeks after that. After about 3 editing jobs, they started asking me about promoting me to representative and what my career goals were...promising fees for helping process customer transactions through paypal, bonuses for sales, etc. The texts they send you to edit are kind of brain washing because the center around notifying reps of their bonuses and promotions, or money transactions through paypal.
I am so glad I saw this site because I recognized the EXACT SAME job offer letter and text jobs to edit that someone else posted, except under a different email address and another company name. I contacted Kuantokusta and they confirmed it's a scam...they do NOT hire U.S. reps to edit texts for them or offer jobs like that. I am just thanking God I got out before I considered being a rep with them or they transferred anything to my paypal account. Once they do that, the research I have seen shows they go forward with schemes to access your money and you will never get it back. I hope my post helps someone else to avoid these scammers.
