Hello All,

I received two emails that are exactly the same....one from Mark Erick, and just a few moments ago Reza Williams. Please add this to the other 4 names to be aware of. At first I did reply to Mark Erick, although my fiance swore it was a scam. Once he found this, I replied again, saying that I wasn't interested and he should remove the post. Right after I did, I received the same email, only this time with poorer grammar and punctuation from a Reza Williams. I thought I would warn the next folks who ate it up just like I did at first.

Thanks!!

I've been communicating with the alleged "Derek Antonini"; knowing his intentions were to scam me. The initial emails were identical to the others posted here except for this one. How low can someone get???? This takes the cake and I plan to continue playing dumb until he sends me some form of payment, in which case I will probably cease contact and burn the worthless check/money order. I guess I'm just having fun reading the ridiculous messages and wondering what he will come up with next.

I pasted the email (except for a phone number below his name) I might call it just to see what happens.

I suppose it is a good thing that these people haven't learnt grammer yet and I hope they never will as it makes it very easy to spot.

Dace - Welcome! What you are doing is known as scambaiting--but we do not encourage baiting with your real information, as that is not considered safe. You can find lots of great info about safe scambaiting at our sister baiting site www.419eater.com

Koraxbear--you are absolutely right, we like it when they make mistakes that show they are lying. That's why we try to make sure we never point out their mistakes, as we don't want to educate them. In fact, baiters like to encourage scammers to make even more mistakes :)

Ugh... almost fell for the Terry Barnett guy too :/

I'd never seen a scam like this before, so of course I fell for it. I was actually supposed to receive money orders today, but the post office caught it because of a fake shipping label... Apparently these guys are too cheap to even pay for that part. Anyway, I called the post office because I tracked the package online and saw that it had been 'disposed'. I was kinda pissed at first, thinking they'd accidentally thrown away my payment, and then I talked to a lady in Mail Inspection. She basically described exactly what Mr. 'Terry' had asked me to do: take the money order and deposit them at my bank, then withdraw it, keep part for myself, then forward the rest to some place in Malaysia (I was actually starting to think it was a scam at that point anyway).

It was at that point I googled 'terry barnett scam' and it led me right to you guys. So, I guess, thanks for that? XD

Sucks I won't be getting paid though :/

Welcome to Scamwarners.
It sounds as if you were one of the lucky ones, although with any luck, your bank would have spotted the fake money order. And you are safer from scams now. There's never a genuine reason to bank a check or money order and send part of the amount on by Western Union or Moneygram.

PS I like your avatar.

handle my official and personal needs when I am not around. The job is on part time basis and it may turn around to be a full time one in the future if the need be. I travel a lot because of my kind of work, interaction with some international organization and my position in the field because I am an international lawyer and I have a license to practice in just eight states

I hope you understand the job details very well and some shall be discussed in full as soon as we move on. The most important thing is trust and proper accountability, which I believe it will resolve itself as time goes on. The basic wage again is $500 weekly and I want you to understand that paying this kind of wage means you need to do my work or the duties assigned to you perfectly.. I hope you will be a very good and commendable personal
assistant that I can trust because my work may come in at anytime . For documentation and confirmation with regardless of the information on your resume, I will need you to provide me with the information below:

I believe you have accepted the job offer as soon as I receive this information from you and I will also put you through a week trial assignment to determine your work rate and efficiency in carrying out duties. I received the same email by Jeff Dyer.

I knew it was a scam so I did not reply but... if I sent him my resume when I was applying originally, what should I do?????????

On my resume, I just have my physical address and email... but nothing about my financial information..
by Chris Fuller Fri Oct 01, 2010 11:14 am
Hello sykimx, and welcome to ScamWarners.

The scammer will have received many resumes from many people who thought that they were applying for a real job. He probably didn't even bother to open it and read it - because he is not interested in anyone's employment history or qualifications; he is only interested in tricking people into sending him money.

Drop all contact with him, He will move on in trying to find someone who will believe his scam, and forget about you. Just be on the look out for other scams being sent to you, because sometimes scammers will share email addresses with their scamming friends. Simply delete any that you spot - and ask about any that you are not sure of.
