Thank you all for your hard work, there are many Nigerian gangs targetting those who wish to rent holiday homes in London at the moment. I thought I'd done with fraud sites, but my present business keeps bringing me back to 419. :|
Cheers again guys, you are stars.

NetFirms confirmed overnight that they have terminated cohensionrentals.netfirms.com.

Another one for the list standardapartment.tripod.com

Claim to be called Standard Apartment and to be operating from 39-40 Cleveland Square, London, W2 6DA, United Kingdom.

Use the following email address for communication - [email protected] and the following redirect number for phone - +44(0) 703 598 2360

There is a warning about it on CraigsList here - http://london.craigslist.co.uk/sub/1158117291.html

I've added it to the list on Eater and will get it killed when it has been DB'd

I have had more information passed onto me apparently from the same group of scammers

More suspicious London Apartment websites

Some colleagues are having trouble with the following websites which I suspect are connected to the London Apartment scam. Would you be able to forward this email to your colleagues to have them checked out?

1. http://www.london-cityapartments.com

It's a very amateurish website. So amateurish that if you look at the Kings Suite (3 bedrooms) the photos instead show 3 bathrooms. They also only accept money transfers for payment.

2. http://www.londonsummerapartments.com

Another amateurish website. They have phone numbers starting with 07 and only accept money transfers for payment. Their prices are ridiculously cheap - charging 450 pound per week for a one bedroom apartment in Draycott Place, Chelsea
and on other websites these apartments start at 960 pounds per week and that's just for the studios.

If somebody would like to get them looked after I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

We've been looking for an apartment in London and have come across these sites; In most cases, the person who contacted us was Henry Boyate.

This site is already being investigated, but we need more evidence before we can get it killed.

jmsmith4321 as The Enchatress said, could you post up the email correspondence your friend had with the scammer. I'm particularly interested in how your friend was asked to pay for the flat. Was it by Western Union or was it by bank transfer? If it was Bank transfer could you PM me the bank account details that she was asked to pay to.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Hi Enchantress and B8er - Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. I will forward you a copy of all her correspondence privately. In the meantime - they asked for a transfer into their Barclays banks account so it's not like a it was a dodgy Western Union transfer or anything which I guess is what makes the scam more believable. Fortunately her bank said this morning they will refund the money and investigate with the bank she deposited the money to. Thanks again!
by AlanJones Fri Jun 26, 2009 4:58 am
Thanks for the update and it's good to hear that your friend's bank are going to refund her money.

The use of a Barclays bank account ties in with the information that I have obtained from them. I also have someone investigating the account details that they have provided.

From the correspondence that I have received from them, it appears that this is a UK based scammer rather than an African one, so they are probably a bit more organised, hence the use of the bank account rather than Western Union.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
