As per the e-mail PayPal sent to me which is also similar to yours, You will have to go to any western union office with cash of £400.00 GBP from your pocket when you get to the western union office tell them you want to send money abroad using western union money transfer to the address below.

I am new to e-bay selling, and almost got ripped off of goods the moment I posted the offer. I now have to wait four days to make the "did not pay" report before I can relist, and I want to change it to not have the "buy it now" option!

The guy, who has a British e-mail, wants it sent to "NIgeria." I didn't know that was a tip-off. He asked for my "Pay Pal email." I thought it needed certification, so I gave it to him. Then he told me where to send it. None of these e-mails are on Ebay! I called them, and they have no record of any money taken from his account, as he claimed in these phony e-mails. I reported him to pay pal and to Ebay. I can't relist yet, apparently, though. Until the four days. The value might go down, although I think it's wonderful, with accessories and everything. He tried to grab it! steal it outright, and he would then sell it all for real money. And the kicker is that it was going to my non-profit school: the money. Well, it will, but maybe not as much.

I learned the hard way how to "sell" on Ebay. What a bummer. Since he only asked for my e-mail address, and not passwords or SS numbers, or anything else, I think my identity is safe. Is it? I hope so. I don't want to write the credit bureaus, change my e-mail, etc. He just wanted me to mail him the goods. I never would have gotten paid.

It was a "David Troy." I have blanked out some of the Nigerian address, just in cae.

I feel incredibly stupid! But E-bay should warn you right up front about this! Say to only respond IN Ebay, not via personal e-mail, and if somebody asks for ANYTHING, do not give it to them! It tells you to "contact seller" if you haven't been paid, and that's not good enough. They have to wait four days. So I filed a fraud complaint, now. And with Pay Pay, who wanted the e-mail immediately.

Thank you. Well, it's true, one rarely reads the "terms of service." Anyway, it's already happened. I will sell it, somehow. It's a good thing I didn't send it! Almost did. (A friend on an unrelated board, a fan-collectors thing, said if it says "Nigeria" watch out! After it happened. And it saved me from actually send this guy my Kindle!)

I originally posted the image of the e-mail, with personal info blocked out, but I deleted it because I read about your picture policy. But it is on the Ebay site too - in my ebay mailbox. This was the one that asked for my "pay pal e-mail" and it all started in. He then took to e-mailing outside of Ebay, and that was it. They have no record of anything outside of Ebay. So, if somebody asks for your "pay pal e-mail," like this, because they DO NOT HAVE IT, and shouldn't have it, don't do it.

(Sorry that I posted the pic for a moment; I am from an Elvis forum, and we post A LOT of pictures. This is different. Not again. )

So watch out for that, but it may change soon. He had signed on to Ebay the same day as he "bought" my Kindle Touch bundle.

Selling a car on Craigslist. Got a response that just "felt fishy". I cut and pasted the entire response to google and it brought me here to a scam verbatim. Thank you so much for helping to avoid this scam!

I just got the same deal as nicksilver2612 on Gumtree. Posted my car to sell today and got a interest from Megan Spearman. Exchanged a few emails describing my car. Her email was very generic. What gave it away was she responded with a long email only after 2 seconds of me emailing her with the offer. Yeah mentioned about marine biologist and having a courier agent to collect the car. Obviously copied and pasted. Scammer and an amateur one at that too.
