Welcome to ScamWarners magnumgirl1964, you are dealing with a scammer.

We don't recommend you keep in touch with him to see how far you can go. You are dealing with an experienced con man and you do not know where he has friends. You no doubt have given him much personal information over this period of time and he know a lot about you.

Drop him like a hot potato. Don't tell him you know anything about his activities as a scammer, just drop him and disappear. What you are doing is not safe.

Will you please post up the email address he is using to communicate with you? Thank you and be safe.

Hello, it looks like he is also now Albert Field! Contacted me through match.com (happyukman), said would be off the site in days and to please write to him at [email protected]. His photo is quite nice! Stupidly, out of curiosity, 2 weeks later I did. Now, only a week further on we have protestations of absolute love and a mixture of not quite correct English and yet also paragraphs of totally grammatically correct stuff. Googling sentences from it has brought me to various 'love letter' sites and also to this site.....

He is currently purporting to be Swedish, a construction engineer in Spain sorting out his inheritance from his late father, soon to open a Mexican restaurant. Living in N London. One daugher of 15, Kem. Cheated on by ex wife. Bangs on about trust and honesty so homes in on what he knows we are looking for. No requests for money yet and have sent him away with a flea in his ear but it looks like he is quite practiced at this stuff. This is so not on. Luckily there are sites like this where we can let everyone know.

Another email came across today from Richard Brandon.....
How are you today my eight wonder? You know, God gave us two arms, two legs, two eyes, two ears, but only one heart so we can find the other pair lol. And as I have learnt that Love is the soul recognition of it's counterpart in someone else. I loved the fact that I got this much mails from you. I feel special. You do not need to worry about me , what she has always wanted for me is what I am having right now, trust me, I am a warrior.

What a wonderful way of life it is to find joy and happiness in someone else. I would ask you some few questions which require a min before you answer each.
Do you believe in Love, even amidst this crazy world we find ourselves in?
Do you believe that happiness has value more than every material things we may get in life?
Do you believe that you have a good heart to care for people unconditionally?
If you found a hundred dollar bill on the road and see a hungry orphan, would you feed him?
If you get into an arguement with me, and I pull you close to kiss you, would you still kiss me back?
Would you love those close to me as I would love all those who matter to you?
If I bring you breakfast in bed would you kiss after saying thanks?
Do you love to run away with me sometimes where we would be out of business environment to spend quality time together?
Do you believe the world should concentrate more on peace projects than war fundings?
Do you have faith that every man is the architect of his own destiny?
Do you believe that Life without Love is like a harp without strings?
Do you know that, You can’t make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be loved, the rest is up to the person to realize your worth?
If God is the DJ, then Life is the dance floor; Love is the rhythm, and You might be my rythm?
If you have said yes to all these and you say no to my next question then you might not really know what you want, lol.
WOULD YOU BE MINE TODAY , TOMORROW AND TILL END OF TIME?
I know the possibility of thinking, this man i havent met, how can there be these feelings? what does he know about me? But I can tell you the truth about life. The people you have met and probably fallen in love with , what do they know about you that you think I dont know? probably, just some physical things, like smell, sense of touch, and body physics, and that is all. But these few things are the least things to love for. These are just sentimental values that are found in many at good lenght. The main things to love for are the abilities to agree on phenomena, and sense of directions. The unexplained attraction to someone's words. Which is life itself. These are the only things that matters deep down. How best can one get these things better than meeting in writtings? where you can escape the sentimental factors I mentioned earlier and once we meet, the biggest sentiments is there and one wouldnt be able to help but start the feelings from there. I can tell you that internet is the best and also the worst way of meeting people. In the sense that it is the best if two people meet and are as open as a book with each other with no lies. I promise it can't fail . The worst in the sense that if these two met and there is even a single atom of lie in between, there comes disappointments, which is like a small stone that can bring down a big wall. Would you ever lie to me? cos I wouldn't ever lie for anything. My ma brough up a better man than that.LOL. Go into research about what I just said and you will find out whether the maths is good or not.
As food is needed for the body, the same way love is needed for the soul. Food strengthens the body while love strengthens the soul. A person is incomplete without love. I will never give up the fight and will of love. Yesterday was big fun for us, we came back from church early enough to have time to enjoy ourselves round the city. We did cruise a boat, and we laughed so much as usual. We all cant wait to be out of here for a longer vacation.
They sang for me and put your name in the song, You know we work all day except for sundays for us. I did picture you with us on the cruise laughing so hard in my arms, lol. Love is a noble act of self-giving, offering trust, faith, and loyalty. The more you love, the more you lose a part of yourself, yet you don't become less of who you are; you end up being complete with your loved ones. I do cherish your presence in me.
pls take good care of yourself dearest wonder.
I wrote him another email to see if he will at some point ask me for money, so far he has not.

The email address Richard Brandon is using [email protected]. I will stop all email contact with this individual and will not let him know I am on to his scams. Thanks for the heads up!

He is insistant that he is arriving in the states next week on a plane to buy a house here in Washington State and again asked me to pick him up from the airport. I advised I was not comfortable doing so.

Welcome to ScamWarners magnumgirl1964. Please do stop all communication with this scammer.

He is NOT going to be on a plane to WA state. He is only saying that to try to keep you invested in the scam. All he wants is for you to send him money. If you stay in touch with him, he will have some excuse to ask you for money.

He will say that he got detained, or his luggage got detained or some other excuse to tell you you need to send him money. He will want the money sent by Western Union so you have no chance of retrieving the money.

Drop communication with him.

i got taken in by him as well. he appeared as happymanuk on match.com and contacted me as albert field. his picture is very handsome and he is over the top romantic and he professes love very quickly. i was taken in by this as he claims to have felt "empty" for the five years he's lived in england. he says he's a retired 56 year old engineer from gothenberg who's wife cheated on him so he divorced her and came to england to "clear his head". he claims to have a daughter kem who still lives in gothenberg - and he's starting a new business next year which is a "large and classy" mexican restaurant. he also gave the spiel about collecting his dad's inheritance from madrid. soon after meeting online he disappears to madrid, thus avoiding the problem of having to meet me but at the same time sending romantic emails and messages professing his love; to get under my skin until he gets to the final part of his little game (oh and on his profile he claims to be an honest simple man who hates liars, and doesn't play games, and would never hurt anyone). he is unbelievable at the depths he will stoop to to reel you. i emailed him today and told him not to contact me any more after last night he asked me to send him £3,500 so he could pay the holding company who are in control of his dad's funds - as apparantly they need this money before they can pay him. needless to say i wasn't up for that! drop him - he is a scumbag.

Welcome to ScamWarners smiley, I am sorry to hear you were scammed. Sadly, there is no recovery for the funds you have sent him.

Did he use the same address listed above?

If not, please post the email address you were contacted from. Also if the messages are different, please post the first email or two you received.

Thank you.

Hi

I realised this was the same guy. The address I had was [email protected]. His name is Richard Brandon and claimed to be an aeronautical engineer. Firstly based in London and then suddenly having to go to Nigeria on business. The first contact was on match.com. When in Nigeria he claimed that he was working with the Nigerian Goverment and was contracted to build a runway. He sent me pictures of his men working on what looked like a building site. He rang me and had an American accent and was very charming. After being in Nigeria for about 2 weeks he claimed that he had to pay a tax bill to the Nigerian Goverment or they would not let him out of the country. Foolishly I paid that for him. He arranged to come back to the UK and meet up with me. I went to Heathrow and of course no show. Not long after I got home I had a phone call from a hospital consultant in Nigeria saying this con man had been involved in a near fatal road crash and of course wanted money for hospital bills. Thats when the penny dropped and I realised I had been a victim of a scam. The doctor claimed that if I did not pay the bill Richard Brandon, would die. Of course I refused to pay anymore money to this low life.

I reported him to a Nigeria agency that track down scammers like him and got an angry telephone call from him. I also reported him to the FBI. But it appears this guy is still scamming.

I know in the UK we have had docmentaries on romance scammers and it appears these people are very rich, working in gangs and living a comfortable lifestyle.

I am now happily in a relationship with a very honest man, but still feel betrayed by a scammer who was so convincing. I try to tell as many people as I can to draw attention to these low lifes.

So people beware.

There are loads of romance scammers in Nigeria, so I'd be surprised if it was the same one. Not that it matters. It's the email address and fake name that we're interested in.
I reported him to a Nigeria agency that track down scammers like him and got an angry telephone call from him
.
Can you give details please. I don't like the sound of that unless you told him you'd reported him. There's the Nigerian police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Neither of which is making much of an impact against scammers. There is the recovery scam, practised by the scammer himself who will ask for money from you in the guise of helping you.

No I never told him that I reported him to the EFCC. He rang me when they contacted him and asked me if I had contacted them. I was asked by the EFCC not to divulge that I had contacted him. I am not sure if he believed me or not.

The con has seeped into OkCupid.com. The profile is now under the name roro16, under the name of "robin carney".

I got suspicious, so I looked up every line he wrote, which popped up on this list. This time, he wanted me to give him some code he was going to have sent via phone. I refused to do it, citing that we had not met yet. He also asked for my home address to send me a gift, which I avoided by asking him to send it to a PO Box I owned.

He's now saying he lives in NY, but he's originally from Idaho and has an Idaho area code for his cell phone. Just be warned.
