My wife received the same email in the above post and completed the interview this morning. She thought this was a legit job until I ran into this. She has given them some of information, but hasen't signed any work papers yet. She was "hired" for the position but now that doesn't sound promising. They are "mailing" her a check to purchase the software required. Can you provide any details on what this scam is about so I can warn my wife not to proceed? Thanks
by AlanJones Wed Jan 29, 2014 3:57 pm
The cheque your wife will be sent will be fake. Her bank will initially clear it as they have to. She will be told that the software will be purchased by sending money by Western Union or Moneygram (or some other untraceable method). Eventually, the cheque will be discovered to be fake and the money will be clawed back from her account. The money she sent to purchase the software will be lost.

If cheque arrives, shred it and block the scammers from any further contact.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Hi to all well . I have been chatting with a guy on line and was suppose to accompany him to a event . yes kind of a escort .. and no no sex I made that clear .
so he was suppose to send a little for essentials and ended up sending cashiers check lol for 2734.00 and I was suppose to take 400 out and send the rest to some event hahaha .. Well I sell adult products . and I was under the impressions that it was a convention of sorts .. sooooo when I got this and a note via text .. yes I was surprised... It says Us band on the cashiers check so I am making copies and going to usbank to tell them and show them someone is frauding them . and then to the police .. unless they process it through their attorneys for fraud .
anyway .. yes this Lea Sumlin name was attached .. what beats all is the supposed company rep cant spell or arrange a form right. Yes I am just as bad ... No its not a lauph be careful out there .. yes I had a lot of fun playing that I would do a escort doesn't mean I would have been one . I wouldn't have accepted anyway . Just was a interesting thing and well wont do that again a bit scary they would send fed ex . to send it . I have put a alert on all my credit reports so .. now its just turning this in ..

I actually don't know why its working... but I really had the feeling that this is a scam... so, looked up their email in google and in Ask Web Search and glad I found this site and how this email ---> humanresource.dept.ph.com has been used for scam... So, I hurriedly changed all the passwords and enabling the 2-step verification. Then after I notified her that its done not knowing that I already changed the passwords hehehe :=) and asked her a few questions like her location etc.. but she ignored it instead I received a reply from her that say;
