Yes - and he probably has different fake names and addresses, and a large number of friends doing the same.

If he doesn't catch many victims with one identity he will use another with slightly different details. To him it is like fishing, and any money he gets is pure profit.

Never ever pay money to someone offering you a job, but even then, do you feel safe arriving in a foreign country and going off with complete strangers ? I wouldn't meet a complete stranger in London just from an e-mail contact.

You are not being sensible.

I never thought to send money and I never thought to going off with complete strangers. I know what I do. However, I wanted to talk about him. So, I don't know what I'll send him, but I'm sure that it will be my last mail for Syring. Thank you for worried about me, but if I wrote here, I'm not a stupid. :)

Lily,

One thing we do ask is that you never tell a scammer what you know about him. When you tell him that you discovered he is a scammer and why, you are only helping him. For example, if he knows that the name he is using is posted, or the address has been proven fake, he will change names and/or address. If he is not aware he has been posted, then he may continue to use the same name, and the next potential victim who searches for him will be more likely to learn the truth soon. If he changes names, it will take a while before his new name is reported, and one or more victims may lose money if they don't dig a little deeper.

Your Nanny/Au pair Services Needed

Hello
We are using this opportunity to reach out to you in request for your
nanny/au pair services. We consist of a family of four, father, mother
and two wonderful girls. Let me formally introduce my family to
you.I'm the father of the house and I am Roland Frants by name, I'm 35
years old, I have dual citzenship, Austrian by birth and British by
naturalization. I have been living and working in the United Kingdom
for over a decade now. I'm married to a British woman, Erika, she is
32 and we are both happily married with 2 daughters, Josephine, 4years
old and Linda 2years old. We speak basically english among ourselves.
I'm privately employed as Networking and Security computer analyst. My
wife is an insurance executive here in London but she has stopped
working at the moment. She was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer sometime
in November and she has been on prescription medication since then.
However, her health situation is deteriorating due to this illness and
she has been advised by her personal doctor to go for intensive
medical treatment for this thyroid cancer. In a week or two, she will
be leaving for Germany where she will be receiving intensive medical
care for at least 3 months so that she can at least return to her
normal health status. A friend of the family who felt concerned and
has already found a reliable aupair/nanny on the aupair website gave
us your contact details. In the meantime, we need an
energetic, responsible, warm and caring au pair/nanny to help take
care of our two daughters. We need help in the morning to get them off
to pre-school/kindergarden. Then help again from afternoon until
bedtime. You will need to do their laundry and clean their rooms. Some
ironing of clothing required as well. You DO NOT have to do any house
cleaning (aside from kids rooms) as we have a part time housekeeper.

You have your own private apartment within the house. No cooking
required, only making snacks and drinks for the kids. You will have
two days off a week, Saturdays and Sundays and your working hours is
30-35 hours per week. Your monthly salary is 2000 pounds while your
weekly stipend is 250 pounds. The weekly schedule has fixed hours:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 7.00 am till 10.00 a.m. and from 4.30pm
till 7.00pm. There will be some flexible hours as well on Friday
afternoon and some evenings. We can work out the flexible schedule
together, depending on the needs of the family and the preferences of
the au pair or nanny. In between those hours you are free to attend
whatever courses you may wish to.

We ask to be helpful when it comes to do some laundry, running
groceries and preparing the meals. There will be fixed tasks as
cleaning up after diner and ironing children's clothes. We are a
friendly, happy group and would love to welcome you to our home. We
are looking forward to welcoming you in London and get to know you as
a member of the family! We will help you find a hobby or other ways to
get to know other people so you will be able to have a good time here.
There are a lot of aupairs/nannies in the neighbourhood. If you are
interested of this position, do not hesitate to send us an email with
your previous experience and we will be happy to find out if you are
suitable for our family.

So now we know one more scammer : )
by Barbara Mon Apr 12, 2010 3:45 pm
I have also received an offer form Steven Syring and I have almost fallen into this trap too but I was lucky that my mother s cousin is a lawyer and he sad to that this is an Nigerian for sure and that it is a scam.I found suspicious that they did not guarantee that I receive the money form the family and asked about it and they replied :

Dear Babara
We want you to know that this is UK and not just any other country and legal matters are treated with highest sensitivity. We want you to know that your host family has already appended his signature to the contract and once you are able to also put your signature on the contract, all the Terms and Conditions contained therein will become binding on both parties and if any of the involved parties breaches any of the terms and conditions, appropriate penalty will be applied. It is contained in the contract that your monthly salary will be 2000 pounds while your weekly pocket money will be 250 pounds. Your host family is aware of this and that is why he has signed the contract. The most important thing at this point is that pertaining to your own responsibilities which you will be performing when you are with them. Do not be scared about the payment. It is the 100% responsibility of your host family to pay your due and correct salary and pocket money because he has already signed the contract.

Yours faithfully
Management

And than I checked it and found this side...

Hi Barbara, Welcome to Scamwarners,

I am very happy to hear that you avoided being scammed and gald you could help you to find the truth.

The email you posted could look very convincing to many people, a lawyer giving guarantees that everything will be OK, that is exactly why scammers use a "Fake" lawyer in their scams, it does make them look believable.

By posting that email here you have no doubt helped others who will see your , if you have any questions, please ask.
by zoffi Sun Apr 25, 2010 12:44 pm
I comunicate with him, too.
I also contacted with company and they wanted to sign contracta and to send them money, now i read this....

Dear Zofia
Mr Syringe has asked us to contact you. He informed us that you have been considered to be their Au pair/Nanny and you will be coming over to the UK to live with them. You do not need a visa to work with the Syringe family in the UK but you will have to sign a contract with the family before this offer becomes valid. UK Migration Consultancy is offering you the opportunity to be an Au pair in United Kingdom! Spend time with your host family and experience first hand an unforgettable cultural exchange. We're making it happen for you in UK. Be part of a global exchange, share the cultural difference and live in UK like a local! Adorable children need an Au pair, so why shouldn’t it be you? Opportunities are available in UK. We have been in charge of the travel needs of their past Au pairs from their home country to the UK. Why have we been their preferred agency? We are always at the airport to welcome and pick up their Au pairs and deliver them safely to their host family. We also take care of their travel needs during their stay in the UK so as to ensure their safety while here. We are also going to process medical and travel insurance that will cover you while your contract last. Attached to this mail is an Contract Document. This document will serve as an agreement between You and your Host family. This Contract will help to establish a reasonable outline of responsibilities for You and your Host Family to adhere to throughout the program . After the signing of the contract, your Au pair Work Permit shall be processed with the office of the UK Border Agency and once it has been approved, it will be posted to you in your country so that you can use it as your legal working document into the UK. Thanks

Yours faithfully,
Management

Dear Zofia

In the first one week of your arrival in London, you are to undergo extensive and comprehensive Orientation and Training program that includes

* Culture Shock
* Child Development for Newborns through Age 12
* Insurance and Program Regulations
* Review of the Childcare Handbook written by early childhood educators, consultants, and nurses
* Age-Appropriate Activities
* Communicating with Children
*The Child Health and Safety Program
*A comprehensive lecture on child health and safety with a British Red Cross licensed instructor focusing on:
- Basic Child Healthcare
- First Aid, CPR, and Rescue Breathing
- Accident Prevention Awareness
- Car, Fire, Toy, Indoor and Outdoor Safety

Your host family will be responsible for the cost of the training and you will be going from home during this one week trainings. You are to carefully go through this contract and make sure you have a thorough understanding of the terms and conditions contained therein because your signing it translates to your acceptance of the terms and condition contained therein and they will be binding on you throughout your contract stay with your host family . You are to print out the contract and fill in your personal details at the appropriate spaces provided. You then send the scanned copy of these pages to us via email. Also you are to accompany this signed document with the Refundable Commitment Fee Deposit of 400 GBP and it is to be sent to us via western union money transfer using the details of the company secretary. The 400GBP Deposit you have been asked to make is not for any expenditure, It will be refunded back to you at the end of your contract with the host family provided you abide by the terms and conditions that has been clearly stated out in the contract. The only reason why the deposit may not be refunded back to you is if you failed to abide by the terms and conditions stipulated in the contract. Please read Paragraph 6 of the contract. The philosophy behind this deposit is to make you committed to your host family so that you can have a good relationship with them. Note, the money is going to the company and not individual. The reason why you are sending the money to the name below is because western union rule says you cannot transfer money to company but only to individual with a form of identification. The money will be received at western union by Nicholas Gardings after the presentation of his identification

Nicholas Gardings
74 Stockport Road ,
Denton,
Manchesther,
M34 6DB
United Kingdom

Once we receive the deposit, your contract will be processed and filed and communicated to your host family. Also we will put in an application for your insurance(travel and health) papers and also your Au pair Working Registration papers(Work Permit) which we shall subsequently send to you upon approval. After you make the payment at western union, you should please get back us with the with scanned copy of the western union payment receipt and the 10 digit Money Transfer Control Number(MTCN) for our records and documentation

Let us know if there is anything else that you need more information about and we look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible

Yours faithfully,
Management

Welcome here Zoffi.
I'm sorry you fell into the trap these scammers setup for you. But it looks like you found this website before you payd any fees. First of all, this refundable deposit is nonsense. Why would you pay some amount of money to show that your loyal to the family? And western union is never used by legitimate companies. In the employment forum is a sticky which deals with au-pair scams: http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3019 There you can read on how to avoid being scammed by these scammers.
And thanks for posting these emails from the scammers, it could save another possible victim.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

Welcome to Scamwarners zoffi.

Thank You for posting this information - it will alert and save others from being scammed.

The content of the mail is merely an attempt to disguise the only thing of interest to this scammer.

The deposit (which will never be refunded) to be sent by Western Union.

This scammer hopes that by providing a bogus address it will seem legitimate.

However any fees "wired" can be picked up anywhere in the World.

Also of note the postcode given is incorrect, and Manchester is misspelled.
