My Dearest , I met you few days if not week ago on the Internet, and since that time, I have grown to love you so deeply. I have heard it said that online romances don't last, but I disagree. I know that what we are doing may be considered wrong by some, but I also know what I feel in my heart, and I know that it's real.
I lay awake at night, sometimes, and I THINK 'cause I miss you so much. I know that we can't change the past, and I know that we can't predict the future, but my heart does not lie ... I am so in love with you.
Babe. You're always lighting up my heart with the things you do and say. I feel so happy just being with you this way. You're my baby, and will forever be my baby. You will always be the love of my life, and please never give up, always have faith in yourself and you will gain the greatest gift of all, the gift of hope and love you righteously deserve. Every time I think of you my heart misses a beat. You're my theme or a dream! Every moment we share together here we grow closer.
I'm simply hanging by a moment, waiting to see you so you can hold me so tight that all else fades, everyday I wake up dreaming of our time that we wil be together..I hope you still think of me too.
I love you with all that I am, all that I was and all that I will ever be. Please know that my love and I are inseparable and I would want it no other way and if time could express my love for you then it's forever and a day. I can't wait to be with you, see your smile, look in your eyes, feel your sweet touch, hear your perfect words and kiss your perfect lips. The way I feel about you some people call crazy, some call it insane, but I call it true love. I really love you.

Love always,

Dear love,

What a wonderful beginning to a RELATIONSHIP! It began late in the previous -- me finding you, chatting online, confessing my love, and then it happens all over again. The feelings that I’ve felt for you all along begin to resurface. Only this time, I am free to act on them without fear of upsetting anyone.
Thank you, MY LOVE. What more can a man say to the woman who opened her heart to him, allowing him to feel the warmth of her love across the great distance that separates them? You truly have no idea what I feel for you.
I try to put this feeling into words, but fail miserably. This feeling of being both scared and at peace, of having both butterflies and a sense of calm, is a feeling that I have only dreamed about. As the days continue to pass, my love for you continues to grow. I never thought I had the capacity to love anybody as much as I love you right now. Yet, my love for you continues to mature, growing beyond the realm of my heart. It seems that you have become the fiber of my soul, the very reason for my existence.
I have no other words to describe the way you make me feel. No words, no actions could even come close. I believe that Ronald Regan said it best to Nancy in a letter, telling her only that, "I more than love you". Their love was a strong love, surviving everything, even death. I believe that even after his passing, Nancy felt Ronald's love for her raining down upon her. That is why she has always seemed at peace after the death of such a truly loving husband. That is the love that I feel for you.

Forever Yours,

Donald

I'm sorry oreck7 but there's nothing to be gained by trying to find the 'real person'. The name the scammer has used probably isn't even the person's name, otherwise it would be easy for you to check up on him, and it would not do any good to tell someone they're being impersonated. If he has a wife and children it would probably be unwelcome news and he could do nothing about it anyway.

I too have had contact with a person who says he is in Afghanistan, Kabul and he has asked me to fill out the fake forms I have seen on this site today. Only he asked for 1150 USD for duty stamp processing. No way! would I send someone online that kind of money no matter how much he said he wanted to come home to hold me and once he got home he would file for his retirement and not have to go back at all. Says he has been in the military for 27 years. I really was believing this Man because I got a pic of him with his name on the pocket of his jacket. But as I investigated farther I realized he was trying to scam me. He goes by Graham [email protected] and the address I sent those fake forms to was [email protected] Can anyone tell me where these e-mails originated from? I am curious to know.
Thanks Everyone so much

Hi I think I've been scammed, 3 months ago I met a US Army sgt on a dating site through facebook. He has been lovely, sending poems, telling me that he loves me. Now I generally don't fall for this kind of thing, but I got sucked in. I stupidly filled in the form that's on the site a money back one. I e mailed it back to him. His picture on facebook matches a name that cropped up here as a sgt michael wells. I even got a dozen red roses. Has anyone been taken in by an Army Sgt Tim Wells? Serving in afghanistan?

I am sorry to have to confirm it, but I don't need a name or a photo to know for certain that you are dealing with a scammer. The money back guarantee form and leave request forms are creations of scammers. They have absolutely no connection to the US military. Anyone who sends you either of those forms or directs you to a site or person with those forms is a scammer, plain and simple. The man writing to you is an African man who has probably never been anywhere Afghanistan. He is not American, and he is not in the military. He has simply copied photos of a soldier he found online--sometimes from military or news sites, other times from the soldiers' personal facebook or myspace pages that they didn't restrict to their friends. These scammers usually pretend to be in Afghanistan as it makes them look brave and dedicated, and gives them an excuse for the leave request (and for disappearing while they are busy scamming others).

Leave is earned, not bought. It is like paid vacation in a regular job--you have to work a certain amount of time before you qualify, you are entitled to a certain amount, and your management has to approve when you take that vacation. Only the soldier himself can apply for leave--no outside person can apply for leave for soldiers. There is no "money back guarantee" because no money is spent - a soldier does not pay for leave. If he has earned leave and it is approved, the leave is free--in fact, the military will arrange his transport home! If he has not earned leave, he can't get it just because he wants to visit someone.

Please just drop this scammer now. Block him from your messenger, and block or ignore any emails or phone calls. Please also post the first few emails you received from him here (remove your name/email address, but make sure you include his) as well as any emails around his "leave." These emails are scripts that are often repeated even after the scammer changes names, and having them posted can help to save other victims.

The roses were most likely paid for with an innocent party's credit card. Scammers frequently buy phished credit card or bank account info from hackers, and they will then use those to buy things for themselves as well as to buy gifts to further convince their victims of their (nonexistent) love. It is a good idea to save the emails from your scammer, just in case you are later contacted by the police or someone else investigating the credit card theft--they are evidence that you were not an accomplice.

Welcome to Scamwarners. As it's the same photo and two similar names, it's likely to be the same scammer. Can you post his email address please.
The roses were almost certainly bought with stolen credit card details.

Although it could be the same scammer, in this particular case it could go either way. The similar names will be because of the photos the scammer is using. If he uses a photo with the name "Wells" on the uniform (which he will likely do to make him more believable) then he will simply pick a first name and make his last name Wells.

Scammers do share photos or even copy/steal them from each other, so more info would be necessary to decide whether this is the same scammer or multiple scammers using the same person's photos. In the end, that part doesn't really matter too much--what's important is that whoever is sending those emails is a scammer, and the real soldier in the photos is unconnected to any of this.

karelit wrote:I was approached on lavalife dating site with the user name newliftwithsoo, (i believe it was that) and then he chatted with me on msn messenger account [email protected] to chat with me. He said he was in the US army and his name was Gary Jonh he has a picture of someone (not him I am sure) on msn in a boat fishing with a white shirt and a dog, and also emailed me a picture of him sitting on a bunk with a tshirt with ARMY typed across. Went into detail that he has a son by the name of Husein Dawuda and within days his so called son was emailing me and also sent a picture. Before you know it he wanted money for his son for food. Said he was in Bagdad in the army on mission and could not doing anything from where he was. I was wondering where this person would have gotten this picture of this military person because you can see that the surroundings are in the army. This scammer is using this picture on msn and who knows where else. Is there anywhere I can post this picture to advise this person that his face is on the internet and someone is using it to scam others?
