I denied the invite and reported the scam. Clearly a scam...I hope no one is that stupid to believe this.

I just got a friend request from Maj. Gen. Paul J. LaCamera, featuring this image of him:

Upon getting the request, before accepting it, I googled him. I found much information on this general available to the public, including his latest posting as chief of the Office of Security Cooperation-Iraq, the Department of Defense.

The scammer uses the location: United States, Texas and LaCamera has no history of being posted in Texas and is not from Texas.
The following additional information in the profile: Male, English, Age:55, DoB: Thursday May 12, 1960.
The scammer uses the following skype address: paul.la.camera121

I think it's doubtful that a man like that would actually try to meet strangers on Skype, I seriously doubt he would have the time with the demands of his current command.

I elected not to accept the friend request or talk to the person. I wanted to post this incase anyone else is targeted by this person. After reading some of the stories here, it could save someone from heartache or money or both.
