A scam from a Reverend Randy

I was looking for a room for rent, and I received the reply below to my request of infos from an advertiser (a "Ronie Relga", "[email protected]"). After a brief search for some of its phrases in Google, I realized that it's just a scam attempt. But I also think it's harmless, because it's unbelievable.

Randy, the owner of the apartment you are making inquiry of. I want you to stop emailing other peoples for needed apartment for rent, because I must give you my apartment for rent...Okay.

And I got your email and Thanks for your interest in my Flat, i want you to know that my Apartment is still available for 3,000 DKK per month The Flat is fully furnished with All Necessary Document papers registered, Approximately 960 sq. ft. Actually I resided in the apartment with my families, such as me and my wife and our only daughter before, But presently we had packed out, due to our church missionary assignment, to visit one of our church branches in the USA, over there, and now i am now situated in the (Kansascity,KS, USA Region), right now with our churches colleagues on our Churches Missionaries Assignment giving to us by almighty GOD.

I'm not Danish, and I've never knowingly met anyone who is Danish, so if I was unknowledgeable about scams, and looking to rent an apartment in Denmark, I could easily think that this is the normal style for a Danish Reverend to write - and not be surprised about anything, or think it unbelievable.

So I'm glad you've posted it here, as it might save someone like me from becoming a victim to this scam.

Are you also able to post the headers from the email? Headers contain a lot of lines that look a bit like these:

and can often tell us which country the email was sent from.

If you are not sure how to locate the headers to an email, then tell us which email provider you are using (eg Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and someone will be able to let you know how to find them!

Some people will find it believable, unfortunately. Apart from being set in Denmark, it's a common format that does work sometimes.
The writing style is West African.

As I don't want to educate the scammer, I shall not go into Danish details.... but my advise for any kind of rental, is to gather info about the city or area from more sources to be better prepared. And you would soon realise that this Reverend is NOT Danish (!)
