I posted a wanted add in craigslist. I didn't look at a reply email carefully before I opened it. It repeated my craigslist title, but it was from a private email address. I don't know how they do this, some kind of hack, but a reply from craigslist should have "craigslist" as the sender. It had all the links to craiglist in the email, but it's fake and can take you somewhere to steal your information!!

Right away I look up the IP. It's a scam from Gawd only knows where. It says Washington but it really could come from anywhere in the world. The IP is all over the net, and even on here once as a scam. This email was from a "Matthew Long" He must be using that name right now as I found "him" under investigation for some scam. Only we know there is no Matthew Long, he is nothing more then a number, and will never be caught. English is not this persons first language.

I'll post all the information on this IP. but I think it's important for everyone to know..do not answer emails that do not look right from craigslist or ebay, never click the links in these emails. Any information you need from either of these sites can be obtained by going directly there. Never ever give out personal information via email. And none of these places ask for SS#.

This is the most important part of the email.. blu0-omc1-s11.blu0.hotmail.com His IP is 65.55.116.22

I just received an offer for a free iPad from this same person from a different email address.

Same guy emailed me about a truck i had for sale. He asked me to confirm my address.
I accidentally told him, and then i searched his name on google to see if anything came up, and what do you know. He's a scammer on Facebook, so i hope he can't do anything with my address.

Welcome to ScamWarners williammark. It is very very unlikely that the scammer will do anything with having your address. They are not into physical confrontations. They may send something to you in the mail, like a check with instructions to deposit the check and send some of the money on to someone else. As tempting and easy as this might seem, the check will be a forgery. If you follow the instructions, you could then be charged with fraud.

You should destroy anything they send to you, or turn it into the post office or police with the envelope it comes in. Do not continue communication with this person.

We are glad that you found information here helpful. It is helpful to others too if you post the email address the scammer used to contact you from.

Thank you for your participation on ScamWarners.
