Fake Military Scam

I was contacted by a good looking man from a dating site, (dating for parents), telling me to contact him be email and he would get back to me. He did, he said he name was Sgt James Anold, and that he was single and in the US Army and that he had one child who was 11 years old and living aboard in America at a boarding school due to him being in he Army.

His email was a long email and went into what happened to him and his sons mother, in one instance he stated that she cheated on him and that he had now been divorced for five years, then he stated that he asked her to marry him and she refused, I did ask him about that and he said he told me that already in his email. I asked him to send me a picture of him in his uniform and he said that he could not until he comes home, he would email me every morning with a love poem, telling me how much he loved me and missed me, always calling me honey, or babe and that he was true to his word and that he would never let me down or hurt me and then he told he was going on a peace keeping mission in Afghanistan and that he was taking his laptop so that he could keep in touch with me, he asked me for photographs of me and my children, which I did send him and now wish I had not.

He also has my mobile number and has called me on it and he sounds foreign, says he is half German and half English, but he does not sound like he is from Germany and when asked him about that he said of course I have an accent. I humoured him and he kept sending me these lovely messages and then he told me that the Prime Minster had been shot, and he was keeping vigil by him and that he had to arrest some Tailans, he kept on mentioning them. Whenever I would challenge him he would get upset and say that he loves me and that if I loved him then I would believe him until he then said he did not have access to any money and that he wanted some money from me for a change of ownership document in relation to a box which held some money and gold bars. He assured me that it was all upfront and then there was a 2nd person involved who was the manager of the security company who was keeping the box, so I like and idiot believed him and sent the manager the money, then the manager phones me and tells me that I had to pay a further $4,800 dollars for storage of the box before it could be shipped to me, alarm bells started ringing.

Sgt James Anold got upset with me when I told him I did not have that kind of money, as it would be approximately £3,000 and he said he needed it to get the box shipped to me, I got angry with the both of them and told them that I would not be sending anymore money and he threatened me because I called him a con man. He gave my email address to a 3rd party supposedly his son who emailed me trying to get me to understand that it was not a con, the message I got I dont believe an 11 year wrote it.

I checked out the company on the internet and it brought me to the scammers website showing me a trunk of money and telling me the company was a fake company. I told Sgt James Anold this and he got angry with me and then tried to tell me he was not conning me so I asked him to get my money back and prove to me that he was not a con man. No such luck then he asked me if I still loved him, so I said yes because I wanted him to know that fool me once but not twice.

Yesterday he emails me a nice message telling me how he awoke and I was lying next to him and then he was dreaming, so I went on line and I told him that I wanted a receipt and an invoice. I got a copy of the receipt and the invoice, which had no company on it, he called me this morning and we argued because I said it was not real, and he tried to tell me that somebody was taking the manager of the security company to court and that he could not use his company address, so as I work for solicitors I said it does not work that way, if someone is taking you to court for money unless you are registered bankrupt, you should not be sending out invoices anyway, and that your company can still trade if someone is taking you to Court, he got angry and said he would call me back, he did at 5 o'clock this morning x 2 but i did not answer the calls, its always an unknown number.

I telephoned a company in Ghana which is similar to Companies House and they told me the Company does not exist, I knew it, but he is still trying to tell me he now needs £300 to finish the transaction and the box will be shipped me as he has now paid most of the money, considering he told me that he did not have access to his money.

I dont know if he goes by the name of any other person, he says his son is called Dennis, his partner goes by the name of Nathaniel Angenu. I want other woman to be aware and I wont stop until I find out if the Soldier is real. I will be writing to the Defence Pentagon to see if he can be located as he needs to know that his ID has been stolen.

Thank you for posting this scam. The ID is most likely a total fake, and the name is more likely fake than real. The scammer himself is African--since Ghana obviously came up, that is most likely where he actually is.

Could you please post the email address this scammer is using, some of his early emails, and the "ID" he provided? You can find instructions for marking and posting Fake ID's in my signature. It would also help if you could post any phone numbers he used. Note: please remove your email address when posting any emails.

These scammers often use scripts--a series of pre-written emails that they send to every victim in the beginning of a scam and when they ask for money. They will often continue to use the same scripts after they change their names. Posting these scripts can help others to avoid being scammed.
