This is the confirmation letter I received to sending my retainer agreement. When I googled the telephone number it came up on a scam alert. They had the seller with a local address or I would not have even answered the email.
Dear Jeff,
Thank you very much for the retainer agreement. After a careful review we have agreed to employ your legal
services and attached herewith is a copy of the signed agreement, invoice of sales and proof of wire transfer of the $900,000.00 we transferred to them as part payment for the goods. We had talks with our seller and we have brought the possibility of litigation to their notice as we informed them that we have a law firm in the states that is going to handle the case. They informed us that they have been approved for the amount been owed, by a loan company and Payment will be sent on or before 15th April 2011. We want the payment to be made through your company as we have heard this same story before and we don't believe this as well.
However we do not intend to introduce any legal pressure unless the deadline of the 15th April 2011 is breached. We do hope you understand our position as we intend to introduce litigation as a last resort.
We instructed that further correspondence be made via our legal representative (your firm) and payment made to your firm as we don't believe that they will make the payment. That way they know that litigation is around the corner and they have no option but act as instructed. Please confirm name and mailing address check payments is to be made out on,so we can start making arrangements for your retainer fees, and also we have notified them to forward any payment in regards to this case to your firm, so they can actually know that we are talking to your firm about this case. More so once the dead line is been breached we will have no other option than to have your fees sent directly to you for you to start up with litigation. We await your urgent acknowledgment and requested details as time is of the essence thank you.
