I am a scam victim! A guy whose name Dupree Belock sent a message on my Facebook account asking if I know anyone who wants to work as nanny to his kids. This guy pretended to be as Engineer Dupree Belock widowed with 2 kids. he asked me to send him my resume if am interested. Well, sounds really convincing when explained everything to me and how he needs a nanny very urgent so I did. He replied and told me that his willing to hire me and so he told me to send all of the necessary documents for faster processing. Later, I got an e-mail from the fake UK Embassy and explained about the fees. They said that the UK new immigration law would only allow the nanny to pay 350pounds which is refundable upon arrival in the UK. They said that, this is only to prove to the UK government that I have sufficient funds for my self before my first salary. They have sent me the working agreement form I have read it and well understood. Well, without any doubt, I signed it and send it back to them with the money 350pounds through western union. I waited for my visa. After a few weeks they sent me a scanned copy of my fake visa and told me to wait for the doccument sending and ask for another payment. There, I started to doubt but it's too late when a friend of mine told me about this website scamwarners.com. It really broke my heart when I get to confirm that I was a victim but it's done. until then i did not respond to his email but i did not confront him coz I want to report him. Until this time he has lots of victims here in philippines.
Please help me report this guy I want him in prison. He pretended to be as enginner working at Crossley Brothers. He also has several accounts like: facebook, meet4date.com, trabaho.net, easyaupair.com, aupairjobs.org, and sexy escort adds. Here at sexy escort adds, he claimed to be a hotel manager in a hotel called King Suits Hotel UK he's been hiring filipina sex escort. and continued using under the name Dupree Belock. here's his contact number 447011120773 and 02347032459559... Also I remember a name he mentioned "Akinbiyi Daniel" I think this guy and Mr. Belock is just one.
Please please please help me report this man.... from: name removed for privacy - CF

Did he use the same email address when he was pretending that he wanted a nanny? Could you post his first messages or emails to you, so that other nannies and au pairs can be fully warned about this?

This scammer, like other scammers, uses fake names and disposable email accounts which he sets up with false information - and he is likely to be using anonymous internet cafés as well. Therefore it is unlikely that his real identity can be discovered; but even if his real identity could be known, it still remains extremely unlikely that he could be arrested, as he is living in Nigeria, and international/cross-border arrests are both costly and difficult.

You can certainly report this crime to your local police, and it may be helpful to them to know that these types of crimes are being committed against citizens of your country - but they will probably be unable to do anything more than make a record of this.

I felt sad reading your story milestonejudy. For future reference you may like to view one of my earlier articles about phone numbers beginning with 4470, dated Nov 2010. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=13567

That is probably the case. It is not unusual for scammers to play different roles with the same victim.
