Hi everyone,
I just got fooled, but fortunately didn't lose any money. Just my self respect......I signed up for the dating site allmilitarydating.com, thinking I would meet someone with some qualities you would expect from someone in the military. Well.....boy, did I get duped. I met a man almost right away after I put my profile page together called Andrew Haas. He claimed to be a marine deployed to a base in the Libyan desert, on the front lines. He did everything right! He was sweet, attentive, showered me with attention. He called me baby, sweetie, etc.....all the things I guess my newly divorced self was looking for. After about a week of contact he mentioned that if I sent him a phone we could talk all the time. I ignored the request, thinking...dude, I am not footing the bill for an expensive phone(he stated it had to be a quad band smart phone), and he dropped it. Another week of contact and the professions of love started. He had fallen in love with me, and honestly he seemed so great, I felt like I was falling for him despite my head telling me it was ridiculous. I sent him some pictures of me, almost daily. He however was unable to send pictures due to not being able to have equipment on the front line that can capture pictures or video, he said it was prohibited. So the only photo I had of him was the one from his profile page. End of week three of this 'relationship' came the big push.....he asked me to send money to replace his 'junk', as he was out of junk food and needed it to keep his energy up in the desert. I asked about care packages, and he said no, it had to be the money sent to the 'delivery' person that came to the desert. He then proceeded to give me a name "Jacob Jude" as the Western Union recipient located in Nigeria, and wanted me to send 480$(for junk food!). I laughed/panicked all at once. And knew right away it was a fraud. He still proclaimed his love for me and how he had no one else(he claimed his parents were dead, and no siblings)........I called him on it, and told him I wasn't sending any money and didn't hear back for hours(which was unusual...........my stupidity, if he was a real marine he would be working long hours and not be on the internet as much as he was....duh).....I reported him to the dating website and they pulled his acct as he had been linked to other scams.......FeelLikeaMoron

Any Email Adresses ? Phone Numbers he gave you ? You can post it all here . The more details posted the less likely he is to find another victim .

Hi FeelLike, as Terminator8 indicates, it is most helpful to post the email address of the scammer.

I am sorry you lost some self respect to this scammer. You can get some of it back by posting specifics about the scammer so others can find the information and not be taken in. I think the ratio of good comes out something like for every one person you help, you increase your self respect by 10. :D

PLEAASE NOTE . There are no foreign forces based in Libya that we know of. Any one who claims they are is a liar. While there may be some clandestine special forces acting as forward observers they are not on internet but sitting in a concealed place for days. They will probably not be US soldiers, but from NATO from UK in 22 SAS, and will not have even told their wives or anyone else where they are, and they certainly will not tell a woman on a dating site. They wouldn't be on a dating site anyway.
They carry all the food they need on their backs, and do not get resupplied and live entirely on Army rations for the field which are quite good as it happens.

Thank you .... The email address was [email protected] ....the dating website was very clear that if someone asks to leave the site right away and go to someplace like yahoo that it should be a warning.....

Wellll, I just had the same experience ..i had an account on zoosk.com..his profile name is alfie. Im not s subscribed member, but I looked him up on yahoo, because he listed and1haas..so I sent a message and a day later e confirmed it was him...long story short....i exchanged a full day conversation, and it happened to be his last day of his 2 week break, said he was from sanford, profile said he was 36,(he looks younger)..he sent me a total of 4 pics...and he was flying into new york in the evening, awaiting to be processed..for his deployment to afghanistan. Said his parents were no more ,and said he has previously been out of a relationship of 3 years..hadwedding planned and everything...said she turned into a lesbian...so he called it off..this guy was sweet and kind, but he also said he didnt have a phone to text...but no mention of any requeats to buy or anything...so yes email is [email protected]...
