Welcome to ScamWarners sburkett. Scammers do not look for specific individuals to scam. The sent our thousands of scam emails each day to try to trap some.

Some times they buy email addresses, some times they have programs which generate them. Regardless of how the scammer got your email address, we strongly encourage members to stop communicating with the scammer because he has information about you which ties to your personal life. I encourage you to stop communicating with this scammer.

Hi all,
I am sure someone is trying to scam me. This person is claiming to be in the US Military in Afghanistan.
He has claimed his undying love for me, which he does every time he mails me. We were communicating via emails for about 2 weeks when he kept saying he wanted to hear my voice, I told him not to worry about it and that when he has his leave we could talk then. This went on for about 3 days, he then asked if he could call me, I said he could but I would have to pay 350us dollars for the call. I became suspicious then. I was also suspicious of him because he is claiming to be a Sgt but his spelling is not what it should be for someone that supposedly has a lot of reports to make. He told me he was fed up of being in Afghanistan and he wanted to be home with me. Then came the leave for him, he said there is a fee for having leave. I told him I was not sending money to him, he then said it would not go to him. I said I didn't care who is was going to I was not sending money. He then said that I did not care for him to be with me if I did not do this. He also said it was to cover the medical he needed for leave. He has now asked me for stuff for the kids in Afghanistan e.g chocolate, food, clothes etc. He has also told me his laptop fell and is broken so I am waiting for him to ask me for money for that. He told me his parents died a long time ago and he is an only child. He told me he has two houses in US. He is claiming to be Sgt Jackson John and his email is [email protected] He said he is from New York. Can anyone confirm to me whether this is a scam or not. My gut feeling is that it is a scam. When I asked for his .mil address he didn't seem to know what I was talking about, then he said he cant give it to me for security reasons. I also found that when I was asking him questions he was very slow at answering them and he had no interest in what I was saying to him.
Thank you all in advance for your response

Welcome to Scamwarners Bold 1. As you suspect, it's a scam. The fact that he asked you to pay for his leave proves it. It's a common feature of this type of scam, and leave never ever has to be paid for. There is more information here. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6527
He's now trying to find other ways of scamming you, and you should just break off contact with him.
