Just come across this website and had a look around. I too have been scammed, but luckily i twigged before it was too late. I have never ever experienced this. So I wanted to share details in the hope that someone may learn from my story.
I had a boat for sale on ebay australia, the bloke texted me his name was Paul Ken, he asked me to email him with best price for boat. I deliberately emailed from a spare unused email account i had, however i was desperate to sell so i was pretty eager. He emailed me back, his email is [email protected]

He said he would pay me $6000 even though i told him $5600, from his paypal to my paypal or to my bank account. He had just moved to Malaysia and he would arrange for the boat to be collected once he paid me then he would ship to Malaysia, I was to follow his instructions once payment made. Now i was naive thinking this was great, my girlfriend was very sus and told me to ignore it. I was stubburn & nagged her for over a week about this & how she was losing me this opportunity to sell the boat. so she reluctantly emailed him details of an empty bank account she had and never used (just in case).

The next day I receive an email from [email protected] stating that $8000 was paid to me but was placed on hold until i pay thru western union transfer $1900 then the money would be released. Only then did i realised i was scammed, of course my girlfriend got the shits because she knew it was sus all along & now they know her name. The next day i recieved another email from [email protected]®
which is quite abusive but professional sounding stating that i have not held up my end of the bargain by paying this money & if i dont do within 24hours then legal action will be taken.
Now i am annoyed, i forwarded the 2 emails to [email protected] (the real paypal) so they knew of this scam.
I was silly and naive, I honestly fell for this in the beginning - i'm sure i will receive more emails in the coming days, but all i can do is ignore as i know they cannot press legal charges on me. its just a plain nuisance and i feel totally taken advantage of.
Lesson learnt as my girlfriend said all along- if it sounds too good to be true, chances are it is. Lesson 2 - Your girlfriend is always right :-( so listen when she says don't do it, its sus!! .....

G'day.
Well I have to say a big thankyou to this guy with his boat because I was almost taken for a ride also.
I was also selling some items on Gumtree and was contacted by [email protected] however I have also seen [email protected] used on another scammer site.
The email had the exact same story... offering more money, located in Malaysia, using paypal.

It all sounded a bit sus but I want to trust people. It occured to me to put the email address in to google just as a sanity check... Talk about saved by the bell!!
Thankfully I hadn't passed on any personal info yet other than my name and email address obviously.

You have to be so carefull.

Kind regards.
