Be warned, Rebecca Foley - [email protected] is still at it - contacted me by sms in response to my Gumtree ad in Australia. Message requested best price for "item", to be replied to email address, not sms! The number used was +13129458977. It wasn't til I emailed back that I noticed that the message came from an "international" number. "She" responded immediately as follows:
Alright Mate,
Thanks for your swift reply. I am interested and I would have loved to come for viewing and inspection but i am currently overseas at the moment and i want this item picked up before i get back. Due to my inability to make a bank deposit, I would be paying via PayPal which is safer for me. Kindly send me a paypal payment invoice or create an account at www.paypal.com.au if you dont have one. I will make a concrete pick up arrangement with my transport agent who will be coming over for pick up once you receive full payment into your PayPal account. Have a nice day.Cheers.
I immediately smelled a rat, but emailed that I would only accept COD, and of course have heard no more, because it seems "she" would be busy with all the other people who have been lured into the trap where an apparent advance overpayment has been made, with a request for refund of the difference, or payment made with stolen credit card, etc etc. Hope all "scamees" report the activities of these criminals.
