Hi,
I have posted this scam on 419eaters.com and have been asked to post here also.

I received a job offer addressed to my main email account in my real name which is only known to recruitment websites etc and official stuff i never get any spam really. The whole thing is worrying coz it seems that they must have impersonated a recruiter to look at my cv to find my full name and city, It could have been quite plausible if the presentation hadn't been so poor, here it goes.

1st contact;

Dear (my real name),
We have reviewed your Resume on at a recruitment website and we are ready
to offer you a part-time job in our company “USA STOP AIDS” as a
controller of humanitarian assistance gathering in birmingham( my real town) for HIV-positive people and people who have Aids in Europe.

If you are interested in this offer please reply to [email protected].
During next 24/48 hours you will receive a reply with additional details and job description.

No sign off email ends here!

2nd contact after my reply showing interest via a new similarly named google mail account

RE: Part time jobs
USA STOP AIDS

Dear Steven,
Thank you for your interest towards our vacancy

About Us:

USA STOP AIDS is a non-profit AIDS Organization founded in 1984. It provides support for people who live with HIV/AIDS as well as their families and friends in USA and all over the World. The mission of USA STOP AIDS is enhancement of quality of life in our societies and reduction of healthcare disparities by provision of full spectrum of services including advocacy, care, testing, education, counseling, referrals and other healthcare services for individuals who live with HIV/STI/AIDS, affected by them, or are at risk of infection.

About the job:
Our organization receives donations from our sponsors in United Kingdom in form of humanitarian supply, such as (medications, medical equipment, food stuffs, clothes) and money for European AIDS centers so that people from all over Europe could get necessary help and medications for free.

At first you will be searching for warehouses for storage of humanitarian supply in your region that will be later sent to the European centers. After that you will be managing the process of receiving and shipping goods and receiving the financial donations from our sponsors. You won’t bear any expenses because our sponsors will cover all the expenditures for warehouses rent, mobile phone, your business trips and other needs. Also every month you will have to make a report about the HIV statistics in your region.

During the first month the job will take only 2-3 hours per day. The following month it will take 3-6 hours. First we will sing a contract with you for the trial period of 2 months with the salary of 1200 pounds monthly. If we find your work satisfactory we will raise your salary up to 1600 pounds or offer you a permanent employment.

If you are ready to work with us, please, fill in APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT.doc attached to this letter. Within 24-48 hours we’ll get in touch with you to carry out the interview. The next step for you will be the signing of a contract with us.

Attention!!! In line with UK immigration and employment law, only applicants eligible to live and work in the UK need apply, proof of ID will be required in the form of a passport, drivers licence or utility bill upon application.

Best regards,
Steve Thompson

I have just received the same email. It is exactly the same email offering me £1200. I was at first very overwhelmed and by looking at the site, it looks real! (at least for me). But i felt something is doggy about this email because i saw the first email that was sent to me was using a hotmail account. Nothing against hotmail but most scam are done using hotmail. So, i googled USASTOPAIDS and I am glad to find this notice! This is very useful and it helps gullible people like me from being scam! Thank you so much!

Hi,
Just one question how did they address you in the email?
My email address is my full name at hotmail.com and the email mentioned my full name and the city where i live. My worry is where did they get my details from, i have a feeling that someone has managed to look at my CV on a UK recruitment site, which i didn't anticipate when i signed up

Where do live?

There are a range of ways that scammers may have gotten your details but compromised CV is probably most likely.

It may have also been from past scams where you may have provided details or even from information you have posted elsewhere, try doing a google search on you real name., phone number and email address and see what comes up from those 3 searches, if it does come up with results, you may like to mmodify some of that information

Hi,
When i google my name and email nothing comes back to me. The name does bring up lots of namesakes who advertise all there personal info for the world to see. I always change my name and postcode by one letter if i have to input some vaguely true looking details for a form (not official ones of course)

I never even keep the same forum name, i always change it from forum to forum. The only way this person has been able to get my full name and city is either via tesco club card info or maybe amazon.co.uk or my CV.

It's a shame that the second poster didn't say where they lived or whether they are registered on a recruitment site.

I dont believe it, i have sent my contract and my passeport copy !!!!
But it was too fast thtats why i don't send my bank details...
Thanks for this information.
I was called by Steven, it was so real...

Welcome to Scamwarners, and I'm glad you didn't actually lose any money.
You still need to be careful though. If you're job-hunting, you're likely to come across other scams.

This ones growing arms and legs.

Will further victims please state if they are registered on recruitment website and whether they were addressed by there real name and if so was there name contained in there email address e.g [email protected]

^^^ If anybody does wish to reply to the above post, please remember, do not post your email address anywhere on the internet, doing so will only invite further spam and scam emails.

A simple "yes, my email address does contain my name and I am registered on xxxx job search website" will be all the information needed
